  1. A method of making a metering orifice disc from a work piece is disclosed. The work piece has a first surface spaced apart from a second surface over a first distance. The metering orifice disc has an outer diameter from 4 to 6 millimeters with at least one orifice disposed through the metering disc of about 75 to 150 microns in effective diameter. The method can be achieved by removing material from one of the first and second surfaces of the work piece to define a recessed surface between first and second walls, the recessed surface being located between the first and second surfaces of the work piece; and forming an orifice in the recessed surface proximate a shortest distance between the first and second walls to define two channels that extend towards the longitudinal axis, the orifice extends through the recessed surface to one of the first and second surfaces. A method of making a valve seat is also described.
