Technical Examples
- A process and apparatus for adding glue to a flow (L) of loose wooden material, in particular a flow of wood chips and fibers, in which the wooden material is introduced through an inlet (3) into a mixer device (4). The glue is sprayed onto the flow of wooden material, internally of the mixer device (4), by nozzles (21) arranged in proximity of the inlet (3). The mixer device (4) is crossed by a flow of hot air. The wooden material, mixed with the glue, after having crossed the mixer device, drawn by the flow of hot air, is removed via an outlet (10) and sent on to subsequent work operations. The invention serves in particular in the manufacturing of wood-chip and fiber panels. The panels obtained are of high quality, being practically devoid of surface imperfections.
- A method of replacing an existing wood window in the framework of a building in order to retain the original wood window appearance is disclosed. A non-wooden double hung window is inserted into a wood frame, including horizontal and vertical members, and a center member, such that the vertical and horizontal members of the non-wooden double hung window along with the non-wooden elements of the upper and lower sash are substantially hidden when viewed from the exterior of the building, thus preserving the original, wood window appearance. The non-wooden double hung window and wood frame combination is fastened to the wood frame and then attached to existing window casings of the building.
- The invention relates to a simple method for producing tongs (1) and to a tong (1) comprising two arms (2) consisting of wooden material that can be elastically bent in relation to one another, said arms (2) being rigidly inserted into a head piece (3) at an angle to on another. To obtain an advantageous construction, each arm (2) is inserted into a respective groove of the wooden head piece (3), said V-shaped grooves being angled towards one another and both arms are connected to the head piece (3) in a permanent manner.
- A building, comprises sheets of wooden material with the external walls (10), internal walls (1), floor and/or roof boards (20) each made of wooden sheets and of a double- or multi-skinned form, thus comprising at least one inner sheet (2, 12, 22) and at least one outer sheet (3, 13, 23) which are separated by spacer elements (4, 14, 24) and connected to each other by the same. Cavities (5, 15, 25) are provided between the sheets (2, 3; 12, 13; 22; 23). The sheets forming the inner walls (1), the outer walls (10), the floor or roof boards (20) are, at least in one direction, in one piece throughout.
- Concrete molded fence blocks are provided having cores for receiving mortar or aggregate, and pin openings for receiving pins that interlock and align abutting courses of blocks in a fence block system. Groups of a column of blocks form a column support. Standard blocks are provided as spans between the column supports. Column blocks provide additional structural integrity to the fence system, and are larger in comparison to the standard blocks. The leading and trailing edges of the standard blocks have complimentary shapes to provide further interlocking capability between individual blocks. Various types of column blocks are provided for managing the layout of a particular fence system.
