  1. A wireless electrode patch and system for measuring the physiological condition of a subject, more particularly to an electrode patch for ECG monitoring, and a method of sensing, analyzing and/or transmitting or relaying a physiological signal. The wireless electrode patch and system is lightweight, compact and reusable. The wireless electrode patch provides a low, power system for extended battery life and use. The wireless electrode patch and system allows for good reliable measurement of physiological signals from the subject. The wireless electrode is simple enough to apply as a single patch but versatile enough to be reconfigured as more than one patch.
  2. A wireless communication device coupled to a wave antenna that provides greater increased durability and impedance matching. The wave antenna may be in the form of a polygonal, elliptical curve and/or coil shape. The wireless communication device is coupled to the wave antenna to provide wireless communication. The wireless communication device and wave antenna may be placed on objects, goods, or other articles of manufacture that are subject to forces such that the wave antenna may be stretched or compressed during the manufacture and/or use of such object, good or article of manufacture. The wave antenna, because of its curved structure, is capable of stretching and compressing more easily than other structures, reducing the wireless communication device's susceptibility to damage or breakage that might render the wireless communication device coupled to the wave antenna unable to properly communicate information wirelessly.
  3. A wireless telephone and messaging system provides Secure Immediate Wireless Access (SIWA) to wireless telephones onto existing wireless networks, such as GSM, CDMA, TDMA, and analog (AMPS). The SIWA protocol uses existing wireless network messaging to exchange information between wireless devices and a network server, referred to herein as an Intelligent Service Manager (ISM). The ISM acts as a gateway between wireless devices and wireless service provider, and provides the wireless devices with an immediate limited or unlimited access to the wireless network. The ISM can also deny access to the wireless network from unauthorized wireless devices.

Several related methods and apparatus for re-establishing communication for a wireless communication device after a communication loss between the wireless device and a wireless communication network are disclosed. In one illustrative example, the wireless network broadcasts identifiers of wireless devices associated with communication losses in the wireless network over a control channel. After regaining signal coverage, a wireless device monitors the control channel to decode and compare each broadcasted identifier with an identifier of the wireless device. Based on a match between a broadcasted identifier and the identifier of the wireless device, the wireless device transmits a control message which informs the wireless network of the presence of the wireless device. Otherwise, the wireless device normally refrains from transmitting the control message to the wireless network. Advantageously, communication with the wireless network is re-established (if at all necessary) without overburdening the wireless link with unnecessary traffic.
  5. An imaging method for an X-ray CT apparatus having an X-ray source and an X-ray detector disposed to face the X-ray source with a subject placed therebetween, for rotating at least one of the X-ray source and X-ray detector around the subject and detecting X-rays emitted from the X-ray source toward the subject by the X-ray detector, comprises the steps of: defining a reconstruction plane for the subject in a plane non-parallel to a plane formed by rotation of at least one of the X-ray source and X-ray detector around the subject; scanning the subject by emitting cone-shaped X-rays from the X-ray source; and reconstructing a tomographic image of the subject based on the defined reconstruction plane.
