  1. The present invention is directed at a bin lifting and weighing assembly comprising a bin lifting mechanism having means for engaging and lifting a bin; means for mounting the bin lifting mechanism against a structure; a load cell, mounted against the structure; for measuring a weight of the bins; wherein the means for mounting the bin lifting mechanism allows only a single degree of freedom such that the load cell remains in parallel with the structure.
  2. This invention provides a simple means for a user to determine the weight of a container with its contents before lifting or transporting it, therefore increasing safety for the user, as back strain and other physical discomforts can result from the repetitive lifting and prolonged carrying of containers that are too heavy. Furthermore, the claimed invention is a container with a built-in scale that allows a traveler on a commercial airline, train, bus or watercraft, to determine the weight of container with its contents so that the traveler can compare the weight of the of the container to baggage weight restrictions prior to departure, therefore, saving the traveler time and money.
  3. A preferred embodiment of a roller assembly for a lifting device for a personal-transportation vehicle includes a shaft member for mounting on a lifting arm assembly of the lifting device and having an outer surface, and a roller member for supporting a lifting strap of the lifting device. The roller member has an inner surface defining a central passage for receiving the shaft and contacting the outer surface. The inner and outer surfaces have complementary profiles that permit a relative orientation of the roller member and the shaft member to change so that a weight vector acting through the lifting strap can remain substantially perpendicular to an axial centerline of the roller member.
  4. A device for use in lifting an air conditioning compressor from an air conditioning unit for servicing or replacement of the compressor. The lifting device is also useful for setting a replacement compressor back into place in an air conditioning unit. It simplifies the task of lifting the compressor by allowing the lifting to be performed at a height that reduces risk of bodily injury and thereby allows the task to be more easily performed. The device is usable by either a single person or by two people if the weight of the particular compressor calls for two people.
  5. A lift for lifting motorcycles, ATV's, or any similar vehicle. The lift includes a base, an upright extending from the base, a four-bar load-transferring lifting mechanism, a lifting frame adapted to engage the vehicle, and an operator for lifting and lowering the lifting frame.
