- A cable with a waterproof plug includes a cable including a wire and an insulating coating covering the outer circumferential surface of the wire, and a waterproof plug made of an elastic material. The waterproof plug is formed integrally with the cable so as to cover the outer circumferential surface of the insulating coating in an annular region along the length of the cable. The waterproof plug is united to the cable with an adhesive component. By connecting a terminal to the cable at a position nearer to one end of the cable than the portion where the waterproof plug is formed, a connector cable with a waterproof plug is obtained. The cable may be substantially circular in cross section or substantially rectangular in cross section, such as an FFC or FPC.
- The ventilating window of tent according to the present invention comprises a double-side waterproof fabric 111, which is sewn and attached to the rim portion of the ventilating window 102 of the body fabric 101 together with the cover fabric 105, and in which the net yarn fabric 103 is sewn and attached through the outline fabric 104 to the rim portion of the ventilation hole 112 formed inside, and of which both sides are waterproof coated so as for a waterproof tape to be adhered; an inner waterproof tape 122, which is attached to the inlet of the portion that is closely contacted by the sewing line of the double-side waterproof fabric 111 and the cover fabric 105 to prevent rainwater from penetrating through the sewing line part of the double-side waterproof fabric 111 and the cover fabric 105; and an outer waterproof tape 121 that is attached to the sewing line of the body fabric 101 and the double-side waterproof fabric 111 and the border line of these to prevent rainwater from penetrating through the sewing line part of the body fabric 101 and the double-side waterproof fabric 111.
- A portable memory device (1) includes a memory unit, a USB mating port (20) electrically connecting with the memory unit, a protective case (30) detachably mated with the USB mating port and a plastic waterproof member (32) secured in the case. The plastic waterproof member is pressed against a periphery (213) of the USB mating port to seal a gap between the USB mating port and the case. The USB mating port is protected in the case form water penetration. Moreover, the plastic waterproof member imposes a force rising from plastic deformation of the plastic waterproof member on the USB mating port. Therefore, the USB mating port and the case is firmly engaged with each other.
- A waterproof connector (100) receives female connection terminals (17) connected respectively to one ends of wires (21), and can be fitted to a mating connector (150) to be electrically connected thereto. The waterproof connector (100) includes an outer housing (11), an inner housing (13) which is provided within the outer housing (11), and holds the connection terminals (17) in such a manner that the inner housing is held in intimate contact with at least one of an outer peripheral surface of a wire press-fitting portion (17) of each connection terminal (17) and an outer peripheral surface of the associated wire (21), and a waterproof mechanism (15) which is made of a thermoplastic synthetic resin, and forms a liquid-tight seal between the wires (21), the outer housing (11) and the inner housing (13). The waterproof mechanism (15) is formed by the cured hot-melt adhesive.
- In a waterproof connector, a sealing material is filled in an internal space of an outer housing which lies between an inner housing and a waterproof plug. The outer housing is so formed that a centerline of a connector opening and a centerline of a waterproof plug receiving portion are offset a predetermined amount from each other, and the density of wires in the sealing material-filling space within the outer housing is made generally uniform.
