- A method is provided for distributing programming. A first set of programs is transmitted in real time according to a schedule of programming. A second set of programs is stored on a server, each of which is configured to be played for a user under the user's control. At least one of the first set of programs has a counterpart in the second set of programs. A notification signal is transmitted to distinguish at least one of the second set of programs on the server from programs not on the server.
- This invention is a method of allocating bandwidth for a television program delivery system. This method selects specific programs from a plurality of programs, allocates the selected programs to a segment of bandwidth, and continues to allocate the programs until all the programs are allocated or all of the available bandwidth is allocated. The programs may be selected based on a variety of different factors or combination of factors. The selected programs may also be prioritized so that higher priority programs are distributed before lower priority programs in case there is not enough bandwidth to transmit all of the programs. This invention allows a television program delivery system to prioritize a large number of television programs and distribute these programs based on their priority levels. The invention also permits a television program delivery system to dynamically allocate bandwidth over time or based on marketing information, such as consumer demand.
- A method is provided for distributing programming. A first set of programs is transmitted in real time according to a schedule of programming. A second set of programs is stored on a server, with at least one of the first set of programs having a counterpart in the second set of programs. A request from a user for program control over one of the programs in the first set of programs is detected. A determination whether the requested program has a counterpart program stored on the server is made. If so, the counterpart program form the server is played under the control of the user.
- Control programs for machine tools and industrial machines include programs that control axis motion, and programs, that periodically execute machine sequence control. Both the axis motion control programs and the sequence programs are coded in an NC program format. The controller analyzes the sequence programs created in NC program format, converts them into executable form, and executes the executable-form programs periodically from when power to the machine is turned on until the power is shut down.
- The present invention provides a system and method for dynamically populating a list of most used execution points in a graphical user interface of an operating system based upon the utilization behavior of a user. One embodiment provides for depicting a list of execution points to most used programs by determining a list of eligible programs, tracking the usage of the eligible programs in a usage list, taking into account chronological order of the activation of the programs and determining which programs in the usage list have the most usage. These programs then have execution points placed on a displayed most used list in the graphical user interface.
