Technical Examples
  1. A truck is disclosed including a stock cab, a stock truck bed and a stock truck frame with these components mismatched to provide a space between the cab and the bed for a enclosed storage assembly extending as a box laterally across the truck and enclosed to the frame. The box includes doors to either side and neither the box nor the doors extend above the top of the sidewalls of the truck bed. The box may include a pivotally mounted top. A mounting assembly enclosely attaches the box to each longitudinal beam of the truck frame. The assembly includes a tab to mount to a mounting point on the truck frame. A J-bolt is associated with a bracket on the assembly and extends to a hole in the truck frame to engage the hole in tension. A locating tab is on the other side of the assembly from the J-bolt to cooperate with the J-bolt to laterally locate the mounting assembly on the frame.
  2. A truck bed divider apparatus includes a first side frame member, a second side frame member, and side-frame-to-side-frame spacing means connected between the first side frame member and the second side frame member. A pair of partition gates are hingedly connected between the first side frame member and the second side frame member. The partition gates prevent items carried on the truck bed from moving toward the front of the truck bed away from the tailgate. With one embodiment, the respective side frame members are fastened to walls of the truck bed, and respective partition gate are nested within the respective side frame members when the partition gates are not in use. The apparatus of the invention permits positioning of items carried on the truck bed near the end of the bed, near the tailgate, so that the items are easier to reach from the tailgate end of the bed.
  3. A multi-function hand truck is convertible to allow lifting of a load at a spaced distance from the truck and/or is convertible for use as a wheelbarrow. A pair of lifting arms co-operate with the frame of the hand truck to extend outwardly therefrom and allow the frame of the hand truck to provide a mechanical advantage for lifting. The wheels of the truck are moveable rearwardly for conversion to a wheelbarrow mode. An open top container is positioned within the frame of the hand truck for receiving material. The multi-function hand truck is efficiently stored in a vertical orientation.
  4. A steering arm for a walkie/rider truck which has a truck body, a driving motor and load bearing means, a platform for the operator and a steering rod. Button portions extend adjacent both lateral surfaces of the horn of a steering above the grip portions and extend approximately parallel to the lateral surfaces and are supported for pivoting movement approximately about horizontal axes. The button portions are arranged such that they can be actuated by the thumb or the index finger of the hand engaging the associated grip portion.
  5. A truck bed partitioning and extension device for use on a bed of a pickup truck is disclosed. The truck bed partitioning and extension device includes a transverse panel having a pair of ends and a pair of side panels. At least one of the side panels is attached to the ends of the transverse panel through a double hinge. The double hinge allows folding along a pair of generally parallel axes that allow the pivoting of the side panel along a first axis that allows the side panel to pivot to a position next to the transverse panel and pivoting of the side panel about a second axis that positions the side panel at a distance from the transverse panel.
