  1. Embodiments of the present disclosure relate to a timepiece and a mechanism to be used with the timepiece for indicating the date and the day of the present time. In one embodiment, a timepiece may include a dial, indications of seven days of a week inscribed on the dial, and an aperture pierced through the dial and being sized to allow seven dates of a month to appear adjacent the indications on the dial. A mechanism for indicating the date and the day may include a date indicator bearing a series of dates from 1 to 31, a first member configured to cause the date indicator to move by seven days on each Sunday at about midnight, a date corrector bearing a series of dates from 1 to 6 and arranged in such a way that the date corrector can be partially superposed on the date indicator, and a second member configured to cause the date corrector to move in such a way that, at the end of a month having less than 31 days, the date corrector automatically hides incorrect dates and replaces them with its own dates.
  2. A method and apparatus for generating court dates. A Date Calculation Engine (DCE) is coupled to a court date server and a court rule database for generation of court dates. The court rule database includes formulas written in a Date Calculation Scripting Language (DCSL) for calculating the court dates. The court rules further include instructions for generating a Jurisdiction Selection Expert (JSE) and an Event Selection Expert (ESE) that enable a user to quickly select a jurisdiction and an event using hierarchal data structures. The DCE is combined with other software components to build a complete court date server system.
  3. The birthday calendar is a dual monthly calendar and twelve-month chart. The calendar is perpetual in that it is not designated for any particular year or month. The monthly calendar is made of a dry-erase board displaying a month grid that is filled in with erasable ink for any particular month. The chart is a grid used to permanently record and display birth dates and other annual dates such as anniversaries and holidays. The chart displays columns intersected by rows. The columns are grouped in twelve sets of two having a month column adjacent to a year column. The rows display the dates of each month down the left side of the chart, numbered from 1-31. An event is recorded in the chart by writing the event's name in the appropriate month and date space and the year in the adjacent year space.
  4. An intelligent battery charger is disclosed which tracks usage of the computer by the user and the charging and usage habits of the user. This tracking includes dates, times, and elapsed usage time, as well as dates, times, and elapsed charging time. Parameters regarding the specific battery being charged are also known by the intelligent battery charger. This information is utilized to develop a usage and charging profile for a particular battery in the device for which it is used. To execute a deep cycle, rather than require that the user wait to plug in a charger until the battery level has reached a certain low level, the charger itself controls the on and off operation of the charging system, based on the profiles.
  5. Actuating a security system includes providing a first set of access codes to a wireless device and causing the wireless device to transmit the first set of access codes to a first controller that actuates the security system. The first set of access codes provided to the wireless device may expire. Actuating a security system may also include providing expiration dates for each of the first set of access codes provided to the wireless device. Actuating a security system may also include examining each of the expiration dates and, in response to a particular expiration date being prior to a current date, erasing from the wireless device a particular one of the first set of access codes that corresponds to the particular expiration date.
