- To minimise the power consumption when registering an electronic ticket, a bidirectional communication in a higher frequency band is initiated when the electronic ticket has received a wake-up signal in a lower frequency band via a highly sensitive receive module. During entry stamping, a wake-up telegram containing an identity of the detection space is transferred to and stored in the electronic ticket. The wake-up telegram is received in the lower frequency band by another receive module in the electronic ticket.
- A train position detection system which enables train position detection based on a combination of passing information obtained when a train passes over a point at which a ground marker is installed and position information about the ground marker stored in an onboard device. The onboard device, a ground marker receiver and a track digital telegram receiver are mounted on a train. A ground marker that transmits passing information to the onboard device is provided on a track circuit, and a ground device that transmits a track digital telegram containing position information about the ground marker (marker position information) to the onboard device is provided. The onboard device stores the marker position information contained in the track digital telegram, and the position of the train is determined based on the passing information transmitted from the ground marker and the position information about the ground marker stored in the onboard device.
- Described is a bus station (e.g., a sensor, an actuator, a gateway) which performs a primary device function and a secondary function (e.g., a bus monitor function). To perform the secondary function, the bus station is equipped with a bus monitor arrangement which allows the bus station to access, to detect and to further process telegram traffic carried on the bus system. Also described is a network equipped with a plurality of such bus stations and a method for carrying out such monitoring with the aid of the bus stations.
- Disclosed are an apparatus and a method for shortening a processing time at each node in an optical network. A transmission optical cross-connect (OXC) determines a transmission rate corresponding to the transmission speed of the signal to be transmitted. An optical receiver and an optical transmitter are stabilized by means of the transmission rate. In addition, a transmission OXC transmits the transmission rate to an OXC aligned between the transmission OXC and the receiving OXC, thereby stabilizing the OXC. Each of the OXCs detects the transmission speed of the optical signal to be received so that a time required for converting the transmission speed is reduced.
- A transmission power control apparatus includes a transmission power control signal extracting section, transmission power control signal storage section, transmission power control determination section, and transmission power changing section. The transmission power control signal extracting section extracts a transmission power control signal from a reception signal containing a transmission power control signal. The transmission power control signal storage section sequentially stores transmission power control signals output from the transmission power control signal extracting section. The transmission power control determination section determines whether an instruction to increase/decrease transmission power based on a plurality of transmission power control signals stored in the transmission power control signal storage section is repeatedly generated. The transmission power changing section stops transmission power updating operation if the determination result from the transmission power control determination section indicates that the transmission power is repeatedly increased/decreased. A transmission power control method is also disclosed.
