  1. A sweat panel for a saddle is connected to the saddle by a flexible connection member along a portion of the width. The sweat panel perimeter replicates the under panel perimeter to enable the two to be separated by preferably less than one quarter inch. Billets are disclosed that notch the billet leather to receive a connecting strip to connect the billet leather to the tree webbing, thereby reducing the thickness of the billets.
  2. Absorbent articles which provide superior protection against wet through under impact or sustained pressure, and high convective air flow therethrough for skin health and comfort benefits. In particular, an absorbent article comprising an absorbent core and an absorbent barrier structure, wherein the absorbent barrier structure has a hydrohead value of at least about 10 mBars; a convective air permeability of at least about 10 Darcy/mm; and a liquid impact transmission value of less than about 20 g/m
  3. A disposable urine collection device for use by a person which includes an absorbent pad for the collection of urine and a glove attached to the absorbent pad. The glove design includes a mitt for insertion of the user's hand into the device under the absorbent pad through the sleeve of the glove. The absorbent pad is composed of a waterproof plastic liner, a hydrophilic gel and absorbent material layer, and panels of absorbent material. Various embodiments include additional layers in the absorbent pad such as a top protective layer and an absorbent rim. The hand of the user is inserted into the mitt of the glove prior to urination and removed after urination. The sleeve of the glove is inverted over the top of the absorbent pad upon removal from the user's hand. The apparatus may then be secured prior to disposal by various closure means.
  4. A wound dressing including an absorbent core defining opposed proximal and distal surfaces and at least one receptacle formed therein. The at least one receptacle opening at the distal surface of the absorbent core and extending a distance into the thickness of the absorbent core. The at least one receptacle contains a discrete portion of absorbent material. The absorbent core may include a plurality of discrete hydrophilic particulates enmeshed therein. The wound dressing may include an elastomeric gel layer and a liquid impervious, vapor permeable backing layer connected to the absorbent core.
  5. The invention relates to an absorbent structure for cleaning surfaces. The absorbent structure has areas or sections or mixtures comprising different material, these areas, sections or mixtures having either a primarily absorbent effect or a primarily cleaning effect. The structure has a support structure to which the cleaning material has been applied. The aim of the invention is to provide an absorbent structure with greater potential for variation and variants in terms of its cleaning and absorbency properties and/or effects. To this end, the inventive absorbent structure has a pocket or bag-shaped cavity in which pieces or strips of highly absorbent materials are located.
