- Device for screwing caps onto bottles and similar containers includes a work station, which supports a device for gripping the caps and which moves toward and away from the bottles, carried by a relative feeding line. An actuator, associated to the work station, drives the gripping device into rotation, so as to screw the caps onto the corresponding open heads of the bottles. A fricton device for coupling of the actuator with the gripping device, is operated in step relation with the positioning of the caps close to the open heads of the bottles.
- A filter includes first and second axially spaced end caps having filter media extending axially between the end caps and extending in a closed-loop around a perimeter defining a hollow interior communicating with an axial flow opening through one of the end caps. One or more columns extend axially in the hollow interior between the end caps and are laterally spaced from the axial flow opening and have hollow sub-interiors for receiving one or more posts extending axially thereinto from a base for mounting the filter to the base in axial compression and with a wiper seal.
- A soil sample containment device is provided which allows soil samples to be contained within individual sections of a soil sampler liner. The device includes first and second end caps for covering and sealing the respective ends of the soil sampler liner section. Each end cap has a structure for coupling with the opposite end cap for securing the end caps together. The coupling structure for each end cap includes a hook arm and an eye arm. The hook arm of the first end cap can be coupled with the eye arm of the second end cap to secure the end caps together over the ends of the liner section. A flexible sealing material is provided within each end cap for providing a compression seal between the end caps and the liner section. The liner sections can be formed of different lengths and different materials to accommodate different soil tests.
- An internal combustion engine includes a crankcase and an upper oil pan. The crankcase includes a plurality of main bearing caps extending between a pair of side walls, with openings in the main bearing caps and in the side walls. The upper oil pan is configured to sealingly engage the crankcase, and includes openings therethrough, which align with the openings in the main bearing caps and the side walls when the upper oil pan engages the crankcase. Fasteners structurally tie the upper oil pan to both the crankcase side walls and the main bearing caps. The engine may further include a lower oil pan defining a sump and attached to the upper oil pan. The upper oil pan preferably includes an oil filter manifold, an oil scraper, and a plurality of oil passages, while also providing a windage tray.
- A fusible resistor and method of fabricating the same is provided. The fusible resistor has a very low resistance of 20 to 470 m?. by depositing thin films as a fusible element made of a material with low resistivity such as copper having a temperature coefficient of over 2,000 ppm/° C. The fusible resistor comprises a resistor body, a fusible element layer formed to surround the resistor body, caps formed to surround ends of the fusible element layer, lead wires attached to the caps, and an insulating layer for insulating the fusible element layer and the caps from outside. The thus-fabricated fusible resistor performs all functions of a use without generating excessive heat.
