Technical Examples
- A voice transcription system employing a speech engine to transcribe spoken words, detects the spelled entry of words via keyboard or voice to invoke a database of common words attempting to complete the word before all the letters have been input. This database is separate from the database of words used by the speech engine. A voice level indicator is presented to the operator to help the operator keep his or her voice in the ideal range of the speech engine.
- A method and a device for processing of speech information uses the input and/or storage and/or the acoustical reproduction and/or for the transmission of speed and data information to other devices for local storage and/or reproduction, as well as searching for one or several speech segments in the stored speech information. A recording and search/reproduction of speech information is ensured without manual designation and classification and without the requirement of a vocabulary. Spoken words and/or correlated sentences (memorandums) are digitally recorded as speech signals in a memory which, in a partial scope of at least one word, are again spoken for search purposes and are compared in a device with the recordings and subsequently evaluated, from which a score between the two speech patterns is determined and the memorandum with the smallest score is issued/reproduced acoustically.
- A system for recognizing connected digits in natural spoken dialogue includes a speech recognition processor that receives unconstrained fluent input speech and produces a string of words that can include a numeric language, and a numeric understanding processor that converts the string of words into a sequence of digits based on a set of rules. An acoustic model database utilized by the speech recognition processor includes a first set of hidden Markov models that characterize the acoustic features of numeric words and phrases, a second set of hidden Markov models that characterize the acoustic features of the remaining vocabulary words, and a filler model that characterizes the acoustic features of out-of-vocabulary utterances. An utterance verification processor verifies the accuracy of the string of words. A validation database stores a grammar, and a string validation processor outputs validity information based on a comparison of the sequence of digits with the grammar. A dialogue manager processor initiates an action based on the validity information.
