- A system for distributing electronic information signals throughout a structure, particularly a residential dwelling, is disclosed. The system adapts a plurality of electronic information signals to be received by one or more information utilizing devices which are located throughout a structure. The system provides for adapting a multi-line telephone signal distribution hub for use with a one or two telephone lines allows the wiring for an internal telephone system to be installed immediately with a single telephone line interfaced to the multi-line telephone signal distribution hub while a control box and additional telephone lines from the telephone service utility can be readily connected at a later date. Further, the system distributes electronic signals within a room equipped for audio and video presentations and having a plurality of speaker connection locations for use in home theater applications, thus allowing home theater components to be easily and properly set up or changed.

- A horn assembly for high frequency acoustic speakers. In an array of speakers, a spacing between adjacent speakers needs to be less than the wavelength of sound being emitted in order to combine effectively. For high frequency sound, a relatively small wavelength imposes a limitation on such a spacing. Such limitations are sometimes physically difficult to implement. A horn assembly increases the exit dimensions of the small speaker to larger desired dimensions by utilizing one or more plugs that divide a larger horn cavity into smaller horn cavities and creating similar pathlengths thereto. The similar pathlengths and the smaller horn cavities having desired dimensions allow the exiting sound to combine effectively. The overall dimensions of the exit portion of the horn assembly can be selected to match the dimensions of larger bass speakers, thus allowing improved arraying of the high frequency speakers with respect to other larger speakers.
- A home network system with a standby power saving function and a method for saving standby power thereof, wherein various home appliances exchange information with a home server from time to time. At least one home appliance for a home network is provided in the home network system to exchange information with the home server over a network line. The home appliance includes a controller for analyzing data received over the network line and generating and outputting a home appliance control signal in accordance with the analyzed result, a load for operating/stopping the home appliance in response to the home appliance control signal from the controller, a low voltage transformer (LVT) for receiving an external voltage and supplying a drive voltage to the controller to operate the load and controller, and an LVT relay and a power supply unit for cooperating to selectively supply the drive voltage and a standby voltage to the controller according to whether the home appliance is in operation. When the home appliance is in a standby mode, the supply of external power is interrupted and only the minimum power necessary for the controller is supplied, thereby making it possible to save the same amount of standby power as that of LVT leakage power.
- A method and system is provided for detecting, commanding and controlling diverse home devices currently connected to a home network. An interface is provided for accessing the home devices that are currently connected to a home network. According to the method, a device link file is generated, wherein the device link file identifies home devices that are currently connected to the home network. A device link page is created, wherein the device link page contains a device button that is associated with each home device that is identified in the device link file. A hyper-text link is associated with each device button, wherein the hyper-text link provides a link to an HTML page that is contained on the home device that is associated with the device button, and the device link page is displayed on a browser based home device.
