- The present invention provides for an apparatus and method for conveying a bowling pin into a Pin Sock at a bowling alley. This invention stitches a Hardened Inserting into a Pin Sock. The lip of the Hardened Insert extends beyond the end of output exit of the Pin Sock. Moreover, the output exit of the Pin Sock is larger than traditional Pin Socks. The insertion of a Hardening Insert makes the Pin Sock, and in particular the lower end of the Pin Sock more durable against the constant wear and tear caused by bowling pins entering the sock from an Overflow Chute. By reducing this wear and tear, the bowling pins exiting the Pin Sock would cause less damage to the Transport Band where the pins are deposited after exiting the Pin Sock. Additionally, the enlarged output exit reduces the possibility of pin jams as compared to traditional Pin Socks.
- The seat sock is a protective covering to slip over the back of a movie/theater seat to act as a personal barrier between the user and the surface of the seat back. The seat sock consists of a piece of stretchable polyester fabric which is folded over and stitched along the thirty two inch length, folded inside out and stitched along a twenty two inch length. The cylinder is then folded right side out. An elastic loop is attached, stretched and slipped around the rolled seat sock.
- A knitted sock has an inner layer 2 comprising a toe end 4 and an outer layer 3 comprising a toe end 7. The inner and outer toe ends are aligned and joined wale stitch to wale stitch to form a composite toe end, which is closed to provide a flat toe seam 10. The layered sock is manufactured complete in a single process being knit continuously from the inner toe end to the outer toe end. It comprises reciprocated heel and toe portions. The foot portion of the inner layer is knit from a yarn with properties such as a low coefficient of friction and/or antifungal/antibacterial properties. The low friction fiber is a fluoropolymer such as polytetrafluroethylene. The outer layer may comprise a cushion structure.
- A medical apparatus is provided. The medical apparatus is designed to be a foot covering that is specially designed for diabetic individuals who may have or be susceptible to medical conditions of the feet. The medical apparatus allows an individual to go outdoors without wearing shoes, because the medical apparatus itself serves as a crude shoe covering over a pair of feet. In addition, the medical apparatus itself can serve as a sock covering, which can then be used when a shoe is placed over an individual's feet.
- A retractable roof for a vehicle comprises two telescopic tube arrangements disposed on opposite sides respectively of the roof which comprises first and second panels (1) and (2). Each arrangement comprises three tubes (7, 8 and 9) dimentioned mentioned to be telescopically received one within the other, of hollow elliptical cross-section and made of carbon fiber. Expandable bags are disposed inside tubes (7) and (8). Each bag is disposed within a braided sock made of a low friction material to control movement and diameter of the bag within the corresponding tube, and facilitate its expansion and contraction. By supplying and withdrawing pressure fluid to and from the bags, the roof may be moved between extended and contracted positions. Expandable seals are disposed between adjacent roof panels and between those panels and the front and rear screens of the vehicle.
