Technical Examples
- A nail driver includes a braking unit and a resilient element. The braking unit has a protrusion and is pushed by the resilient element. The braking unit is abutted to a nail pusher of the nail driver to push nails together with the nail pusher in a nail cartridge of the nail driver. When there is no more nail left, the braking unit is pushed to block in the moving path of a securing slide rod of the nail driver so that the nail drive cannot be actuated until the nails are reloaded.
- Presented is an apparatus for stabilizing the form boards or members that define a cavity to receive wet concrete. The apparatus includes metal stakes having two sets of through-bores. The through-bores of one set are perpendicular to the through-bores of the other set and are spaced intermediately thereof. The stakes are driven into the ground in parallel pairs on opposite sides of the form boards. Nails are driven through one set of through-bores to attach the form boards to the stakes. A retention nail is slidably supported in a bore of the other set of bores so that it lies parallel to the form boards and above the top edges of the form boards. An elongated retention plate extends transversely above the form boards and opposite ends are detachably engaged to the nails that lie parallel to the form boards so as to prevent the form boards from displacing the stakes outwardly by the force exerted by the wet concrete. After the concrete sets or hardens, the retention plate is easily removed to enable removal of the stakes for reuse and dismantling of the form boards.
- A locking nail for treating fractures of tubular bones has at least one cross-bore is provided at one end for the reception of a bone screw. The nail has a female thread at the end with the cross-bore for connection to a nail retention screw. The nail has an anti-rotation feature to anti-rotationally secure the rotational position of a joining sleeve which joins a targeting apparatus relative to the locking nail.
- A nail clipper for pets has a clipper body formed with a pair of board spring arms with operating ends biased apart for mounting respective blade pieces thereon, and the blade pieces are each formed as a semi-circular or semi-elliptical ring half of a given thickness having a cutting edge formed on an inner facing rim thereof and diametrically opposing ends pivotally attached together with the semi-circular or semi-elliptical cutting edges positioned apart facing each other for insertion of a nail of a pet and closing together to cut the pet's nail. The blade pieces produce smooth nail edges cut in a semi-spherical or semi-elliptical shape in a single cutting action.
- A nail for use with repairing a bone fracture. The nail includes a cutting tip formed of at least one facet defining a cutting edge. The facet is skewed with respect to a primary longitudinal axis extending through the nail from the proximal end to the distal end. The nail further includes at least one groove extending longitudinally on the nail from the distal end to the proximal end, the groove having a cutting edge used to increase or enlarge the entry opening as the diameter of the nail increases from the distal end to the proximal end.
