SLOT DIE COATING
Technical Examples
- During displacement relative to a substrate 1, a coating die head emits coating liquid out of a slot 12a to a surface of the substrate. The coating die head includes a lip 12b having a lip surface 12b and a side having a side surface 12c. A contact angle of the surface 12c with respect to the coating liquid is greater than a contact angle of the surface 12b with respect to the coating liquid. This configuration enhances stabilization of bead of the coating liquid during application process of the coating liquid, preventing stripes and steps from appearing in the coating layer. This coating die head makes it possible to carry out high precision coating required for fabrication of color filters for liquid crystal displays.
- A coating machine having a coating material discharging mechanism for discharging a previously filled coating material under pressure to an atomizing mechanism wherein a coating material bag for filling a coating material is housed in a coating material discharging chamber of a predetermined volume and an inlet/exit port of an operating fluid is disposed for exerting a pressure from the outside of the coating material bag thereby discharging the coating material under pressure, while crushing the coating material bag, whereby paint or other coating material can be discharged under pressure reliably by a small driving force.
- A multilayer coating according to the present invention comprises an alumina coating formed, directly or through an intermediate layer, on a hard coating composed of a metallic compound formed on the base material, and the Vickers hardness of the hard coating after alumina coating formation being 22 GPa or more. The multilayer coating is excellent in adhesion between a hard coating and an alumina coating and capable of exhibiting excellent wear resistance and heat resistance over a long period.
- A method and assembly that makes use of an adhesive to form a joint structure between two members, such as two heat transfer components. A first member has a slot in a surface thereof, while the second member has an edge received in the slot of the first member. One or both of the first and second members has one or more features that force the edge of the second member away from the first surface of the slot and into contact with the second surface of the slot during insertion of the edge into the slot. An adhesive within the slot bonds the second member to the first member.
- A loop-slot antenna defined by a conductive plate includes a first slot and a second slot. The first slot and the second slot divide the conductive plate into a first strip, a second strip and a patch element. The first slot is an L-shaped slot and includes a transverse slot section extending along the lower edge of the conductive plate and a longitudinal slot section extending along the left edge of the conductive plate and opening to the upper edge of the conductive plate. The first slot is operated at a first frequency. The first strip includes a transverse branch and a longitudinal branch that has a feed point. The second slot opens upward. The second strip has a free end on which a grounding point is disposed. The patch element is formed between the first and the second slots and operable at a second frequency.
