Technical Examples
- A skating training device with a V-shape frame that has a front end and two rear portions with handles. The front end includes a wheeled leg and the rear portions include rear legs that terminate with skating blade assemblies. A brake system includes actuating levers that transmit a force of predetermined magnitude to an elongated bar that is pivotally mounted to the blade assemblies and include a braking teethed plate mounted thereto so that predetermined movements of the actuating lever result in causing the teethed plate member to sink against the ice surface. Optionally, the blade assemblies can be replaced with wheel assemblies for land skating.
- The present invention teaches an apparatus and method for removably securing an article of footwear suitable for walking, running, or bicycling to a wheeled skate. Further, the present invention also teaches a brake device for use with a wheeled skate. In addition, the present invention teaches a wheeled skate that can be propelled with the use of linear or side stroke skating techniques. Moreover, the present invention teaches a quad wheeled skate having advantageous structure and function for recreational skating and aerobic exercise.
- A skating blade with a cross-section of three different portions. The upper portion is narrower, the middle portion is wider and the lower portion is trapezoidal to give improved ice penetration at the lower edges. The rocker is formed with two different curves. The front curve is defined by an arc of a circle and the rear curve is obtained by pivoting a radius forwardly along an arc of a circle and rearwardly along the rocker.
- A displacement apparatus is provide for skating footwear such as in-line roller skates. The displacement apparatus has extension triggers, each of which is connected to respective rod members that releasably retain the rollers in a retracted position, and a retraction trigger connected to a slidable rod member that releasably retains the rollers in an extended position. Manual operation of the extension triggers and retraction trigger allows extension or retraction of the in line rollers as required. When retracted, the rollers are conveniently housed within a cavity in the underside of the shoe to thereby allow normal walking.
- A hand-held drinking container for consuming liquids, particularly while a user is engaged in physical activity, such as running, walking or in-line skating. One liquid reservoir (1) forms both the main body (27) and the handle (6) of the container. The user turns a trigger (3) on the outside of the handle (6) so as to enable an internal triggering mechanism (10) to lower a sealer (11) to permit liquid to exit the container via the funnel spout (2) on top of the container. Cushion supports (4) located on the main body (27) press against a back side of the user's hand to allow the user to focus his or her attention on the activity rather than on constantly gripping the container. One or more optional weights (7) can be secured to the bottom of the container by using straps (8) to enhance a workout. An optional flashlight (28) may be secured as well to provide safety for those who prefer exercising when dark.
