Technical Examples
- A wardrobe closet that assists users in selecting and purchasing clothing is provided. A radio frequency receiver scans tags embedded in clothing to identify the clothing. When a user removes an article of clothing from the wardrobe closet, the wardrobe closet suggests other articles of clothing that match the removed article of clothing. The wardrobe closet may also be connected to websites via the Internet. The wardrobe closet may determine the user's clothing needs and find clothing offered for sale at one or more web sites. The user is then allowed to purchase the clothing.
- Temperature regulated clothing with a thermo-electric module that can be configured to transfer heat to or from the inside of the clothing. The clothing can include, e.g., a control system to maintain a desired internal clothing temperature. The clothing can have, e.g., a circulating coolant system to enhance the rate and/or efficiency of heat transfer.
- A switching assembly includes a pair of hollow ties, a pair of supports, and a linkage. The linkage extends generally through the hollow ties, whereby the cribs are generally free of linkage components, and the ballast in the cribs can be compacted with known automated machinery. The linkage includes a number of lugs and a number of rods, with the rods each being formed from standard bar stock and threaded, and with the linkage configuration avoiding the need to custom bend any of the rods. The hollow ties are formed from generally available standard box section steel, as are the supports. The spacing between the hollow ties can be varied in accordance with the pitch of the other rail ties of the railroad switch. Each hollow tie can include a heater. The switching assembly is highly adjustable, which makes it suitable for use in numerous different track configurations.
- A clip that utilizes a magnet to attach identification cards to clothing. The clip includes a clasp, a hinged metal bendable strap, and a magnetic connector which together allow identification cards to be displayed anywhere on a garment without penetrating, clamping or biting the fabric. The invention is connected to an identification card by passing the card attachment clasp through a slotted hole cut in the card and snapping it closed. The clasp is attached to a bendable strap that ties the card to the magnetic connector. The hinged metal bendable strap can bend and flex allowing the position of displayed card to adjust to the movement of the person wearing it. The magnetic connector consists of two parts. The first part is a ferrous metal plate which is fixed to the back of the bendable strap. The second part is an extra strong magnet which is placed behind clothing fabric when attaching the invention to a person's clothing. Using magnetic attraction, the two pieces of the connector hold together and sandwich clothing fabric between them. This attaches the invention and an identification card to the blank face of a garment without penetrating, clamping, or biting the fabric.
- A flashlight includes a light emitting diode, power source, momentary contact switch for manually activating the flashlight, and a split-ring clip for attachment to key-rings, baggage, and various articles of clothing. The flashlight body includes an interchangeable bottom wall, suitable for engraving, printing, silk screening, or stamping.
