  1. A looper for use in a tufting machine includes a hook throat portion having a bottom edge. Corrugations are formed along the bottom edge. The corrugations provide suitable resistance to loop piles hooked by the hook throat portion, thereby preventing the loop piles from being held in an unexpected position of the hook throat portion. This makes it possible to form loop piles of uniform lengths on carpets. Also, the corrugations will prevent the loop piles from sliding away from a knife so that the loop piles can be reliably, precisely and cleanly cut at constant positions.
  2. A construction equipment attachment for driving an object, such as a timber piles, steel piles, pipe piles, steel sheet piles, h-beam and the like, is provided. In one embodiment, the attachment includes a hammer slidably coupled to a lead, a lead mounting assembly and a hydraulic actuator coupled to the lead and the lead mounting assembly. The hydraulic actuator is adapted to control the orientation of the lead relative to the lead mounting assembly. In another embodiment, the attachment may be for a self-propelled heavy construction machine. In another embodiment, a self-propelled heavy construction machine having a lead positionable along three axes is provided.
  3. A method of manufacturing a fleece having different kinds of fibers in the front and back faces includes the steps of: weaving an extra-fine polyester fiber or acrylic fiber in a high gauge to have dense loops to form the front face of loop piles (1), and weaving a natural fiber such as cotton or silk as a ground yarn (2) of the back face; cutting the tip parts of the loop piles (1) formed in the weaving step so as to form cut piles (3); raising the cut piles (3) so as to form a raised fiber group (4); trimming the raised fiber group (4); causing pilling (5) in the raised fiber group (4) trimmed, by a contact friction; trimming the raised fiber group (4) at least once so as to form short raised fiber group (4).
  4. The invention relates to a method and a test setup for determining the bearing behaviour of displacement piles. The displacement piles are produced by making a hole using a displacement head and subsequently filling the hole with a hardenable suspension, whilst leaving the displacement head in the hole. The resulting test pile is subject to the action of a test load using a loading device and the bearing behaviour is measured by a measuring device. An efficient test performance results from the fact that the displacement head is introduced into the ground by means of a metallic pile string, which forms part of the test pile.
  5. A sheet processing apparatus, which is configured in a simple construction and at low cost, includes a first sheet stacking portion for temporarily stacking a sheet discharged thereon, an alignment member for aligning the sheet discharged on the first sheet stacking portion, a sheet processing member for performing a predetermined process on the sheet stacked on the first sheet stacking portion, and a second sheet stacking portion located substantially vertically below the first sheet stacking portion. The alignment member acts to cause the aligned sheet to drop to the second sheet stacking portion.
