- A power control apparatus includes a first driven circuit and a second driven circuit connected to the first driven circuit. A primary power-supply circuit produces a primary voltage from a source voltage of a battery and supplies the primary voltage to drive the first driven circuit. A secondary power-supply circuit produces a secondary voltage from the source voltage of the battery or from the primary voltage of the primary power-supply circuit, and supplies the secondary voltage to drive the second driven circuit. A control circuit outputs a power-supply control signal to the secondary power-supply circuit in response to a command signal, so that the supply of the secondary voltage to the second driven circuit by the secondary power-supply circuit is started or terminated by the power-supply control signal.
- A single power distribution board having pin coded connectors may be used for both AC and DC power distribution to appropriate AC and/or DC power supplies in an information handling system. A common conductive layer may be used for either AC neutral or DC power supply return so as to eliminate one conductive layer in the power distribution board. Alternatively, total isolation of AC and DC power source inputs allow both AC and DC power supplies to operate together in a robust, redundant fashion. The DC power supplies in combination with a battery system may be used as an inexpensive uninterruptable power supply for the information handling system. - A centrifuge for processing blood and blood components in a processing bag connected to at least one secondary bag comprises a rotor for spinning a processing bag and separating a content thereof in at least two components, and a squeezing member for exposing a processing bag to an external pressure and causing a transfer of a separated component from a processing bag into a secondary bag. Electrically powered devices, such as valves and photocells, are mounted on the rotor for controlling a transfer of fluid from a processing bag into a secondary bag. An electrical power supply system supplies the electrically powered devices with electrical power through the rotor.

The power supply connection switch electrically connects or disconnects a plurality of power supplies according to a control signal externally input through an external control terminal. After the WLBI process, the power supplies are disconnected, and electric charges produced by an abnormal voltage, such as a surge, or the like, are released by the protection transistor provided between the power supplies, whereby breakdown of a semiconductor device is prevented.
- A power supply keying method for use with an electrical apparatus includes defining a plurality of power supply classes; associating with the plurality of power supply classes a plurality of power supplies, each of the plurality of power supplies including a power supply housing having a unique keying arrangement corresponding to one power supply class of the plurality of power supply classes; and providing in the electrical apparatus a power supply receptacle for receiving at least one power supply of the plurality of power supplies, the unique keying arrangement of the power supply housing in conjunction with the power supply receptacle permitting reception of a particular power supply of the plurality of power supplies into the power supply receptacle only if the power supply class associated with the particular power supply has power supply electrical characteristics that satisfy electrical power requirements of the electrical apparatus.
