- A generally flat carton blank is arranged for assembly into a carton shape holding multiple cigarette packs. The carton blank has a defined periphery, and a generally flat promotional sheet overlies the carton blank within the outer periphery thereof. A portion of the promotional sheet is adhesively secured to the carton blank. In another embodiment a generally flat promotional sheet overlies the carton blank essentially within the outer periphery thereof. Both carton blank each with its associated promotional sheet may then be assembled and loaded with cigarette packs utilizing standard assembly machinery and standard procedures. Fold lines on the carton blank and the promotional sheet facilitate assembly of the carton blank into a carton shape with the promotional sheet inside the assembled carton. In one embodiment, the remaining portion of the promotional sheet is folded into the form of a packaging sleeve holding multiple cigarette packs for retail distribution upon removal of the sleeve and cigarette packs from the carton. In another embodiment of the present invention, the remaining portion of the promotional sheet simply comprises a planar carton insert for ultimate use by the consumer in obtaining rebates, merchandise and the like or when the promotional sheet is simply used for printed matter.
- The present invention relates to displacement assay type bioassay materials useful for the detection of toxic substances and, more particularly, to packaging materials for food and other products, along with methods for their manufacture and use. The invention provides a unique composite material capable of detecting and identifying multiple biological materials within a single package. The biological material identification system is designed for incorporation into existing types of flexible packaging material such as polyvinylchloride or polyolefin films, and its introduction into the existing packaging infrastructure will require little or no change to present systems or procedures.
- By providing a pre-printed housing member which automatically expands from a flat, generally two-dimensional configuration into a three-dimensional promotional display and also incorporating a sound generator which is activated simultaneously with the movement of the display member from its substantially flat, planar configuration into its three-dimensional configuration, a unique, hands-on, printed, visually exciting and interest-generating, advertising/promotional product is obtained. In the preferred embodiment, an audio producing circuit is automatically activated simultaneously with the automatic movement of the display member from its two-dimensional configuration into its three-dimensional configuration. In this way, a visually exciting, interest generating, multi-sense impacting, advertising/promotional display member is realized.
- A method for forming a via in an integrated circuit packaging substrate includes embedding an interfacial adhesion layer at a base of a via, and heating the materials at the base of the via. Embedding the interfacial adhesion layer further includes placing a conductive material over the interfacial adhesion layer. An interfacial layer material is deposited within at the base of opening and a conductive material is placed over the interfacial material. The interfacial layer material is a material that will diffuse into the conductive material at the temperature produced by heating the materials at the base of the via opening. Heating the materials at the base of the via opening includes directing energy from a laser at the base of the opening. An integrated circuit packaging substrate includes a first layer of conductive material, and a second layer of conductive material. The integrated circuit packaging substrate also includes a via for interconnecting the first layer of conductive material and the second layer of conductive material having a base that includes an interfacial adhesion material to stitch the base of the via to a layer of circuitry.
- An elongated packaging device is provided for packaging at least one disc-shaped item such as, for example, a recording media disc such as a CD, a CD-ROM or a DVD, together with other materials relating to such disc or otherwise in a stacked relationship. The packaging device comprises a first member having a first chamber and a first opening providing access thereto, said first chamber including means to receive and retain a disc-shaped media, and a second member for the storage of materials other than the disc-shaped media, said second member including a second chamber and a second opening providing access thereto. A method is further provided for packaging such disc-shaped item and other material within the packaging device.
