- An apparatus for applying powder coating material onto large objects such as automotive, truck or other vehicle bodies includes a powder spray booth defining a controlled area within which to apply powder coating material onto the vehicle bodies, a powder kitchen located at a remote position from the powder spray booth, and, a number of feed hoppers located proximate the booth which receive powder coating material from the powder kitchen and supply it to automatically or manually manipulated powder spray guns associated with the booth. Oversprayed powder coating material is removed from the booth interior by a powder collection and recovery system which transmits the oversprayed powder back to the powder kitchen for recirculation to the powder spray guns.
- The method for producing a granulated powder of the present invention includes the steps of: preparing an R-Fe-B alloy powder; and granulating the alloy powder using at least one kind of granulating agent selected from normal paraffins, isoparaffins and depolymerized oligomers, to prepare a granulated powder. The produced R-Fe-B alloy granulated powder is excellent in flowability and compactibility as well as in binder removability.
- A system for electrostatic powder coating irregular shaped, three-dimensional articles with 10 ?m average diameter powder particles. A supply of powder particles are triboelectrically charged and transported onto one or more donor rolls without the need from fluidization of the powder particles. The charged powder particles on the one or more donor rolls are metered to provide a uniform layer thereon. A combination of AC electric fields and/or air jet detach the powder particles from the one or more donor rolls and produce a powder cloud that is directed to the grounded article to be coated. A layer of powder particles coats the outer surface of the article, and the layer is subsequently cured to form a permanent and durable film on the article.
- Provided is metallic powder for powder metallurgy having iron as its principal component and containing indium soap, or metallic powder for powder metallurgy further comprising at least one type selected among bismuth soap, nickel soap, cobalt soap, copper soap, manganese soap and aluminum soap in such indium soap. Thereby obtained is metallic powder for powder metallurgy capable of easily improving the rustproof effect without having to hardly change the conventional process.
- A multi-layer sliding part is prepared by a process including mixing 1-50 parts by volume of a Cu-plated solid lubricant powder with 100 parts by volume of a Cu-based alloy powder comprising 5-20 mass % of Sn and a remainder of Cu to form a mixed powder, sintering the mixed powder in a reducing atmosphere to form a sintered mass, pulverizing the sintered mass to form a powder, dispersing the powder formed by pulverizing on a steel backing plate, and sintering the dispersed powder to bond grains of the dispersed powder to each other and to the backing plate.
