  1. A control for a flashlight system in an airport, includes flash units which are connected to an energy supply line and, on the output side, to respective flashlights of the flashlight system via a light cable. In order to avoid unwanted high voltages, each flash light unit includes an energy-integrating low-voltage capacitor which can be supplied by a current source having a corrected power factor and which is connected to the flashlights embodied as low-voltage lights. The energy transmitted to the flashlights can be electronically controlled. A connection device connecting the flash units to a local master control system is embodied as a local field bus system, in such a way that different, conventionally arranged, simultaneous or mixed flash configuration patterns can be produced by way of the same electrical installation.

In a backlight assembly and a liquid crystal display apparatus, a plurality of lamps disposed in a receiving space of the backlight assembly is spaced apart from each other by various intervals between the lamps depending upon positions at which the lamps are disposed. Each of the lamps may also have an external electrode having a different area from each other or due to the positions at which the lamps are disposed. Furthermore, each of the lamps may have a different amount of discharge gas injected thereinto due to the positions at which the lamps are disposed. Accordingly, the liquid crystal display apparatus may provide a uniform brightness, and prevent deterioration of display quality thereof.
  3. A novelty item that spins at least one array of lights to produce a predetermined changing pattern of lights. The device has at least one array of lights that is supported by at least one flexible arm. The arms radially extend from a spinning hub. Consequently, when the arms rotate, the various lights in the array of lights rotate about the hub in a variety of circular pathways. A control circuit is provided in the hub that spins with the arms. The lights in the array of lights are coupled to the control circuit. The control circuit selectively flashes the lights in the array of lights in a manner that is synchronous to the speed at which the various lights are traveling in their circular pathways. As a result, the control circuit can cause the spinning array of lights to produce any desired pattern, display or alphanumeric message.
  4. A reactor chamber is positioned between a top array of LED heat lamps and a bottom array of LED heat lamps. The LED heat lamps forming the top and bottom arrays are individually or controllable in groups such that power output along each array of LED heat lamps can dynamically differ. The LED lamps can be controlled in response to, for example, feedback from chamber sensors, a desired temperature profile, and a failed LED lamp. In this way, the methods and systems described herein can dynamically compensate for operational characteristics of the reactor chamber. In one configuration, the LED heat lamps are arranged in a rectangular pattern. In some configurations, the LED heat lamps are arranged in a circular or a concentric pattern.
  5. A wavelength division element includes a first filter and a second filter. The first filter has incident angle-to-transmission wavelength characteristics and separates multiplexed lights in a plurality of wavelength bands into first lights that are in a first wavelength band and first reflected lights. The first filter allows the first lights to pass through in a first direction and reflects the first reflected lights in a second direction. The second filter is located in the second direction and separates the first reflected lights into second lights that are in a second wavelength band and second reflected lights. The second filter allows the second lights to pass through in a third direction and reflects the second reflected lights in a fourth direction.
