Technical Examples
- A first electronic device engages in a voice communication with another electronic device. The voice communication is associated with data stored by the first electronic device. In some instances, the data is generated the first electronic device or received by the first electronic device from the second electronic device in response to, or as a consequence of the voice of the voice communication. During the voice communication, or sometime after the voice communication is terminated, the first electronic device determines that the data is associated with the voice communication. The data is then made available to an application program, so that the data can be associated with other data. Thus, a human user of the first electronic device is relieved of identifying data within a context, and relieved of the task associating the data with other data.
- A computer-assisted schematic linking method for electronic components includes naming the circuits of various electronic components according to signal line naming conventions; storing in an electronic component specification data base; selecting a plurality of first electronic components from the electronic component data base to generate a first electronic component list for users to select the first electronic components; searching second electronic components from the electronic component data base corresponding to the selected first electronic components and generating a second electronic component list for users to select the second electronic components; processing schematic linking operation for the first electronic components and the second electronic components; and repeating the foregoing steps to select other electronic components until a complete schematic chart is finished.
- A system and method for protecting data within a portable electronic device to prevent unauthorized access to that data. Encryption of data within the portable electronic device and automatic erasure of data upon unauthorized attempted access is provided. A limited number of attempts to access the portable electronic device are allowed, and if exceeded, the data is automatically erased without notification. Data transfer functions of the portable electronic device are also disabled when the device is locked. Erasing of data is also provided if the portable electronic device is not synced with another device during a predetermined time period.
- A method for creating an electronic data file from information residing in the memory of a first device operating in a data communication system includes storing information identifying the owner who made a request for the creation of the electronic data file in a backup service in addition to information concerning the electronic data file to be created, sending instructions concerning a procedure used in the creation of the electronic data file from the backup service to the first device, wherein the instructions include information on how the electronic data file to be created will be altered during its creation such that it becomes unusable without further information, creating and processing the electronic data file according to the instructions, and saving the processed electronic data file in a second device.
- An electronic watermark data insertion apparatus comprises an insertion information memory (39) for preliminarily storing insertion information for designating electronic watermark data to be inserted block by block and an electronic watermark data insertion unit (33) for inserting, on the basis of the insertion information, the designated electronic watermark data from an electronic watermark data table (37) in a quantized image block by block. An electronic watermark data detection apparatus comprises an electronic watermark date extracting unit (45) for extracting the image data having a biased frequency region projecting in dependency on the inserted electronic watermark data block by block and an electronic watermark data detection unit (50) for calculating a statistical similarity between the extracted data and the electronic watermark data stored in an electronic watermark data table (48). An electronic watermark data accumulator (51) accumulates the statistical similarity for a predetermined time interval to produce an accumulated addition result which is reset after the elapse of the predetermined time interval or when the accumulated addition result exceeds the a predetermined threshold value. A determining unit (52) determines that the electronic watermark data is detected when the accumulated addition result exceeds the predetermined threshold value.
