- An imaging method for an X-ray CT apparatus having an X-ray source and an X-ray detector disposed to face the X-ray source with a subject placed therebetween, for rotating at least one of the X-ray source and X-ray detector around the subject and detecting X-rays emitted from the X-ray source toward the subject by the X-ray detector, comprises the steps of: defining a reconstruction plane for the subject in a plane non-parallel to a plane formed by rotation of at least one of the X-ray source and X-ray detector around the subject; scanning the subject by emitting cone-shaped X-rays from the X-ray source; and reconstructing a tomographic image of the subject based on the defined reconstruction plane.
- A method of detecting lie detection including the steps of first conditioning the subject to produce an involuntary physiological response triggered when the subject provides false statements; and secondly asking the subject to state whether each of series of statements presented to the subject are true. As the subject answers, the subject is monitored for the conditioned involuntary response. Detecting whether the subject is providing false statements is based on whether the involuntary response is observed during these answers. A system (19) for lie detection includes a computing device (21), a controller (40), and at least one conditioning interface (42, 44).
- With a view to providing a receiving coil which permits a subject to assume a supine position when radiographing the breast of the subject, thereby improving the working efficiency, a receiving coil for receiving a magnetic resonance signal from the breast of a subject lying within a static magnetic field space is provided in each of a first cup and a second cup of a brassiere which cups receive the breast of the subject SU therein.
- A therapeutic device (10) is formed to have an area (11,12,13) upon which marking instruments (26) may be used to form a design. A subject (25) may use the area to form a design of a person that causes stress to the subject. The subject can express internal feelings toward the design. The design may be removed and the area used by another subject to form a different design.
- Fluorescent timer proteins, which undergo a spectral shift over time after synthesis, as well as nucleic acid compositions encoding the same, are provided. Also provided are fragments of the subject proteins and nucleic acids encoding the same, as well as antibodies to the subject proteins and transgenic cells and organisms including the subject nucleic acid molecules. The subject protein and nucleic acid compositions find use in a variety of different applications. Finally, kits for use in such applications that include the subject nucleic acid compositions are provided.
