  1. A branched aromatic ionomer is prepared by co-polymerizing a first monomer having an aromatic moiety and an unsaturated alkyl moiety and a second monomer having an ionic moiety and at least one unsaturated moiety. The ionic moiety may have a cationic group having a valence of +1 or greater. Styrene is among the useful first monomers and sodium methacrylate and zinc dimethacrylate are among the useful second monomers. The branched aromatic ionomers may be used to prepare articles including foamed polystyrene and microwave save dishes and utensils.
  2. Water spraying systems for a dishwasher including water spraying devices for mounting on the ceiling, dish rack and a rotating spray arm of a dishwasher for effectively spraying water throughout the dishwasher cabinet. The device includes a housing on which a spinner is mounted that has an open trough and angled end for effectively spraying water and causing rotation of the spinner without clogging. The small size of the device allows placement in strategic locations for effective water spraying distribution and yet does not obstruct or reduce the placement of dishes, glasses, cups, utensils, pots, pans, etc. in the dish racks.
  3. A food dish separable into two parts and having a central tapered post construction that provides a secure, self-adjusting, and non-wobbling fit of upper and lower members together while they are connected, but which permits easy separation thereof when needed to clean the upper food-holding member. The upper and lower members are substantially similar in diameter dimension so that animals do not have access to the contents of the lower member. It is contemplated for the lower member to hold a fluid or viscous material that prevents crawling insects, particularly ants, from gaining access to food in the upper member. Applications may include, but are not limited to, use with cat food, dog food, and food for puppies and other animals that is made continuously available for on-demand consumption, and to keep crawling insects out of food scraps and residue left in food dishes after an animal has eaten.
  4. The invention is directed to a self supporting cantilever support apparatus for mounting a satellite dish antenna to a building having a sidewall. The apparatus consists of a square, steel receiver tube having a foot plate mounted on one end and a square, steel telescope tube inserted and adjustably mounted within the receiver tube. The satellite dish is screwed onto the hour glass shaped plate affixed to the telescope tube. Slotted holes formed in the hour glass shaped plate to accommodate the many different types of satellite dishes. The co-axial cable is threaded through a hole in the telescope tube, through the two tubes and out through a hole formed in the bottom of the receiver tube.
  5. A method of washing dishes in a dishwasher that includes a Start Stop sequence in a wash segment of one or more of the dishwashing cycles. The Stop Start sequence includes the steps of pausing the operation of the wash pump, operating the wash pump to circulate wash water in the dishwasher for a short period of time, and repeating the steps of pausing and operating the wash pump for a short period of time a predetermined number of times. The Stop Start sequence is preceded by, and may be followed by, a period of continuous operation of the wash pump.
