Technical Examples
  1. A system and method for creating and/or rearranging musical content on a mobile device such as a cellphone or personal digital assistant (PDA), or on a computer for subsequent download and interactive playback on a mobile device. The method includes the creation and use of a digital music file, preferably consisting of MIDI sequence data, defining a musical composition having distinct musical parts, and the creation and use of a control file used in the rearrangement of the musical parts. The control file includes a plurality of control parameters for the musical composition, including which musical parts are active for each measure of the musical compositions. A user interface is included for allowing a user to alter one or more of the control parameters.
  2. Musical score displaying data include note or musical score information indicative of a note or musical score symbol to be displayed, position information indicative of a display position on a musical score where the note or musical score symbol is to be placed, and attribute information designating any one of a plurality of musical stave rows where the note or musical score symbol is to be displayed. Note or musical score marks of a same performance part can be displayed across two musical staves, by determining any one of the plurality of musical stave rows where the note or musical score symbol is to be displayed in accordance with the attribute information. In another aspect, the musical score displaying data include at least one of first attribute information for variably controlling the display position of the note or musical score symbol in a horizontal direction and second attribute information for variably controlling the display position of the note or musical score symbol in a vertical direction. With such first and second attribute information, the display position of the note or musical score symbol can be changed to an easier-to-view position.
  3. Based on music performance data, music score display data are composed for displaying a music score representing the music performance. A user inputs his/her musical skill to the apparatus. Referring to a musical skill level versus music score item correspondence table, music score items to be exhibited in the music score are determined to meet the musical skill as inputted by the user, and are included in the composed music score display data. Thus, a music score containing assisting as well as necessary detailed musical signs and indications which meet the user's musical skill will be displayed in addition to the main musical notation of the note progression.
  4. A multimedia console incorporating an alphanumeric keyboard, and a musical key-bed is described for generating multimedia work product conveniently when coupled with a digital personal computer or optionally as a stand alone music equipment. The musical key-bed is optionally detachably coupled with a protective cover for providing ergonomic support when said musical key-bed is not being used.
  5. An electronic musical apparatus having an interface for connecting to a communication network comprises: a memory; a receiver that receives, from the communication network via the interface, a first performance setting information used for executing musical performance in accordance with a first performance information on the electronic musical apparatus or the other electronic musical apparatus; a controller that controls the received first performance setting information to store into the memory; an input device that inputs a second performance information; and a musical tone generator that generates a musical tone in accordance with the second performance information and the stored first performance setting information.
