Technical Examples
- A system and method of delivering a multi-media message to a recipient is disclosed. The multi-media message is created by a sender and contains a talking entity for delivering a sender message. A determination is made as to whether the recipient device has rendering software for delivering a video portion of the multi-media message. If the recipient device does not have the rendering software, the multi-media message is streamed from a server such that a generic rendering software device will deliver the multi-media message.
- A computer-implemented system for managing media that is used in the development of Web pages. A media managing software module supports the collection and storage of media for use by artists and writers in creating Web pages. The media managing software module further supports the delegation of tasks between artists and writers when creating Web pages. Writers can use the media managing software module to either insert media references into the Web page or to create specs requesting media. Artists can use the specs to create or locate needed media and associate the media with the request. The media managing software module can track of the status of requests for media and verify the availability of referenced media.
- A method of revising multi-component software in a multifunctional printer, including revising at least one software component of the multi-component software, qualifying the multi-component software, bundling the multi-component software as a software bundle; and loading the software bundle on to a multifunctional printer. Additional methods and/or devices are also included.
- An anti-piracy software licensing system associates a license file with a particular software product, so that the license file cannot be used with a separate product. The license is associated with one and only one product by associating an Installer Identifier (IID) with the license file. At installation, a set-up or installation program can be executed to install the software product. The set-up program will generate an IID based on a characteristic of the media and will check the generated IID against the IID stored in a license file on the same media. A match will verify that the license file on the media (i.e., the media license file) was not tampered with prior to installation and that the license file was intended to be used with the software product on the media. However, if there is not a match, then the installation will be terminated. At run-time the locally stored license file will be checked. If the license file is present, execution of the software product will be enabled. If the license is absent, execution of the software product will be disabled.
- A system and method for processing a plurality of requests for a plurality of multi-media services received at a Private Service Exchange (PSX) from a plurality of IP-communication devices. The system includes an IP Segmentation Directory (IP-SD) coupled to the PSX and to a plurality of IP Service Control Points (IP-SCPs), which are operative to process the plurality of requests for the plurality of multi-media services. The PSX is adapted to receive, process and redirect the plurality of requests for the plurality of multi-media services to the IP-SD. The IP-SD further receives, processes and selectively redirects the plurality of requests for the plurality of multi-media services to a predetermined IP-SCP of the plurality of IP-SCPs based on attributes of each of the plurality of requests for the plurality of multi-media services.
