- The image display system for transmitting a movie picture conformable to reproducing ability of a mobile terminal such as a mobile phone, comprises an image database for recording a plurality of movie pictures associated with the identification information intrinsic to the movie picture, and the number of pixels or an image size of the movie picture or the type of the mobile phone, a receiving device for receiving the identification information for identifying the movie picture from the mobile phone and the information involving the image size or the type of the mobile phone, a retrieval device for retrieving the corresponding movie picture from the image database, using the identification information of the received movie picture and the image size or the type of the mobile phone, and a transmitting device for reading out and transmitting the retrieved movie picture from the movie database to the mobile phone. Thus, in the image server and the image display system, the rich contents of a movie picture can be automatically and efficiently retrieved and transmitted to a mobile phone with lower reproducing ability.
- A vehicle (12) including a control system (18) is used for controlling vehicle attitude or angular velocity (38). The processor (24) is coupled to a star sensor or tracker (22) and a memory (30) that may include a star catalog (32), and an exclusion list (36). The exclusion list (36), a list of stars to be temporarily excluded from consideration when determining attitude or angular velocity or relative alignment of star sensors or trackers, is calculated on board. Such a calculation prevents the necessity for a costly, periodic, ground calculation and upload of such data. By manipulating the star catalog, or sub-catalogs derived from said catalog, based upon the exclusion list (36), measurements of such excluded stars are prevented from corrupting the attitude or angular velocity or alignment estimates formulated on board. The system uses multiple stayout zones for excluding stars from the exclusion list. A central exclusion zone excludes all stars while a second or more exclusion zones allow some stars to be used in the attitude determination
- The subject invention provides a system for identifying images in the nighttime sky for the purpose of, for example, honoring and/or memorializing people, places, and events. In accordance with the subject invention, the images are defined, at least in part, by stars in the nighttime sky. In a preferred embodiment, at least some of the stars that serve to define the image are visible with the naked eye.
- A partially interconnected network has a plurality of Allocated Nodes, each allocated to one of a number of AREAs, and further has a plurality of Star Nodes (STARs), and also has point-to-point interconnections between the Allocated Nodes and the STARs. The number of AREAs with Allocated Nodes connected to an individual STAR forms the number of ROUTEs from an individual STAR. The Allocated Nodes of a first of the AREAs are connected to a set comprising some, but not all, of the STARs. Further of the AREAs are similarly interconnected to further sets each comprising STARs. There is at least one connection choice between any two Allocated Nodes in different AREAs and where a connection route is two point-to-point interconnections connected in series by a STAR.
- A master movie and player are created on the fly. The master movie is created based on characteristics of a movie or other asset to be viewed by the player. The player is constructed from a template having rudimentary player capabilities for a predetermined connection speed. Tracks selected by suppliers and user/e-tailers are added to customize the player. Different players are constructed for various predetermined connection speeds. When an asset is to be viewed, a server downloads the master movie matching a content viewer's request to the content viewer's machine. The master movie determines the connection speed and send a message back to the server. The server then downloads the player for the asset requested by the content viewer and matching the content viewer's connection speed. The requested asset is then streamed to the content viewer.
