- Bridges decks or panels for bridge decks made of a metal-plastic-metal sandwich with the plastic bonded to the metal plates so as to transfer shear forces therebetween. The sandwich plates may be constructed with either a solid plastic core or a composite core consisting of plastic, metal plates or structural shapes and forms within or without a frame of girders. Sandwich plate bridge panels without peripheral metal frames are held together only by the adhesion of the plastic to the metal plates.
- A method is designed to mount a removable restoration tooth on a natural tooth to be restored. The method involves the use of the standardized plastic inner crowns corresponding to the permanent teeth of a human, the standardized metal outer crowns corresponding to the plastic inner crowns, and the standardized abutment conformation devices corresponding to the plastic inner crowns. One of the devices is used as a reference in forming an abutment on the natural tooth. An abutment matrix is made to facilitate the dressing of the plastic inner crown, so as to make a metal inner crown according to the dressed plastic inner crown. The metal inner crown is mounted on the abutment. A metal outer crown corresponding to the plastic inner crown is fitted with the restoration tooth, which is mounted on the natural tooth such that the metal outer crown is fitted over the metal inner crown.
- An electrical connector to be electrically connected to a plug includes a plastic base, a metal housing and an engaging element. A connection slot and terminals are formed on the base. Each terminal has a pin portion extending out of the plastic base. The metal housing covers the plastic base while exposing the connection slot and the pin portions. The engaging element has a fixing part and an elastic engaging piece which is located within the connection slot. A projecting engaging portion, which is near a distal end of the engaging element and engages with the plug, is formed. The metal housing is composed of a thin metal plate which is bent. The engaging element and the metal housing pertain to different parts. A thickness of the engaging element is greater than that of the metal housing. The engaging element is assembled in the plastic base through the fixing part.
