Technical Examples
- A lubrication apparatus that lubricates mechanism of a molding machine. The lubrication apparatus includes a tank for collecting lubrication oil therein, and a lubrication oil supply route for supplying lubrication oil from the tank.
- Paper shredders are maintained using lubrication substrates that have been treated with or that carry a lubricant. The lubrication substrate is fed through the shredding mechanism of a paper shredder. Rather than requiring disassembly of the paper shredder, maintenance and lubrication can be performed by passing the lubrication substrate through the shredding mechanism. The lubrication substrates can take any of a variety of forms, such as a tissue that is encased in a cellophane or plastic envelope and is impregnated with oil. The lubrication substrates can instead have an array of small tubes that carry oil. In another example, the lubrication substrates can take for them of a bubble sheet that carries oil within the bubbles.
- A lubricating device of a reciprocating compressor includes a pumping unit for pumping lubrication oil contained in a lower portion of a case and a front frame having a supply hole which supplies the lubrication oil pumped from the pumping unit to a sliding part within the case and a discharge hole which discharges the lubrication oil upon completion of a lubrication operation. A lubrication oil storage is arranged at a front of the discharge hole for storing the lubrication oil discharged to the discharge hole for a predetermined time and then discharging the lubrication oil. A lubrication oil guide is provided for guiding the lubrication oil discharged from the discharge hole to a lower portion of the case in order to prevent the lubrication oil discharged through the discharge hole from flowing to an air hole formed at a front frame. In the device, lubrication oil is discharged after foam generated by mixture between lubrication oil and a working fluid is burst in the lubrication oil, thereby reducing noise generated when the foam is burst.
- A universal joint having a cross-member journal or trunnion with a lubrication chamber includes a combination of a thrust washer and lubrication baffle press fit into the lubrication chamber. The thrust washer and lubrication baffle incorporate one or more lubrication grooves, facilitating the flow of lubricant between the surfaces of the cross-member and bearing cap. Elastomeric properties of the thrust washer eliminate the need for grinding of the journal surfaces to desired tolerances, while incorporation of lubrication grooves into the thrust washer surface eliminates the need for pressing of lubrication grooves directly into the journal ends prior to hardening or heat treating.
- A lubricating system for a marine engine provides a lubrication deflector which extends from the cylinder block of the engine toward rotating surfaces of a crankshaft and/or connecting rod. A lubrication passage is provided as an integral part of a cylinder block of the marine engine to direct a flow of liquid lubricant away from the lubrication deflectors and downwardly toward a lubrication reservoir, or sump.
