INTERNATIONAL CLASS 28
Technical Examples
- A wireless device (e.g. an access point) is adapted to communicate wirelessly with a class 1 device and a class 2 device, wherein the class 2 device is capable of communicating in a manner that is not compatible with the class 1 device. The wireless device may comprise host logic, an antenna, and a MAC coupled the host logic and the antenna. The MAC may cause the wireless device to emit a poll that is recognized differently by the class 1 device as compared to the class 2 device and that causes the wireless device to operate for a reserved period of time in which the class 2 device can communicate in a manner that is not compatible with the class 1 device.
- A method and apparatus are disclosed for automatically handling an incoming call by a mobile communication apparatus when the call is determined to be an international roam call. When an incoming international roam call is detected, the mobile communication apparatus can allow the call to ring as normal, send the call to a local or network voice mail service, or play a prerecorded message to the caller informing the caller that the phone is not accepting international roam calls. The decision can be based on the apparatus's home and registered networks' mobile country code (MCC) and mobile network code (MNC) information, on the caller ID of the calling party, and on the date and/or time of the incoming international roam call. The parameters on which the decisions are made may be set by the user of the apparatus or preset by a manufacturer or dealer.
- Genes encoding Class II EPSPS enzymes are disclosed. The genes are useful in producing transformed bacteria and plants which are tolerant to glyphosate herbicide. Class II EPSPS genes share little homology with known, Class I EPSPS genes, and do not hybridize to probes from Class I EPSPS's. The Class II EPSPS enzymes are characterized by being more kinetically efficient than Class I EPSPS's in the presence of glyphosate. Plants transformed with Class II EPSPS genes are also disclosed as well as a method for selectively controlling weeds in a planted transgenic crop field.
- A system and method for optimizing Internet data transmission so that end-user experience is the best possible. The invention has at least one class set for estimating the network load, wherein each class set consists of classes. The method estimates the network load by each class of the class set. The estimation may be based on counting retransmission requests or packet acknowledgements related to class sets. For example, a class set may consist of classes so that there is a class per each cell of the network. Then the method detects which packets cause a lot of retransmission requests and thus a lot of retransmissions. The method can intelligently target its acceleration actions to certain packets. Four new acceleration actions can be used together with the prior art acceleration actions to accelerate the network traffic.
- A document is classified into at least one document class by selecting terms for use in the classification from among terms that occur in the document. A similarity between the input document and each class is calculated using information saved for every document class. The calculated similarity to each class is corrected. The class to which the input document belongs is determined in accordance with the corrected similarity to each class.
