  1. Non-petroleum based oils replace traditional process oils used in rubber compositions in general and specifically in footwear applications. The replacement oils, derived from plant or animal sources, represent a renewable resource and provide other advantages. The oils contain a sufficient level and distribution of fatty acid side chains to partially incorporate into the rubber at low levels, and to act as internal plasticizers at higher levels. Other compositions are free of silane coupling agents and additives that generate carcinogenic nitrosamines.
  2. An insect repellent composition containing citronella oil, D-limonene, 2 or more synergists, and 3 or more essential oils as the active ingredients. The preferred essential oils are geranium oil, rosemary oil and peppermint oil, but other essential oils may be used. In the preferred embodiment the synergists are aldehyde C-14 and aldehyde C-18. As desired, vanillin may be used as a stabilizer, and fragrances, fragrance enhancers and surfactants may be utilized.
  3. A platy pigment substrate having a carbon-containing coating thereon is provided wherein the coating comprises a pyrolyzed carbon-containing ionic species. The products of the present invention may be used in any application where pearlescent pigments have been used heretofore including but not limited to automotive and industrial paint applications.
  4. A method for producing lubricant base oils is provided comprising the steps of: (a) separating a feedstock into a light lubricant base oil fraction and a heavy fraction; (b) hydroisomerizing the fractions over a medium pore size molecular sieve catalyst under hydroisomerization conditions to produce an isomerized light lubricant base oil fraction having a pour point less than or equal to a target pour point of the lubricant base oils and an isomerized heavy fraction having a pour point of equal to or greater than the target pour point of the lubricant base oils and a cloud point greater than the target cloud point of the lubricant base oils; and (c) dehazing the isomerized heavy fraction to provide a heavy lubricant base oil having a pour point less than or equal to the target pour point of the lubricant base oils and a cloud point less than or equal to the target cloud point of the lubricant base oils.
  5. The invention relates to a clamping chuck for a tool comprising a device for supplying a cooling agent and/or lubricants to a feeding channel of the tool maintained by the clamping chuck. The clamping chuck comprises a sleeve for coupling a feed pipe for supplying a cooling agent and/or lubricants, the sleeve provided with a tubular element and an adjusting screw which is arranged in such a way that it is displaceable with respect to the clamping chuck in the direction of the longitudinal axis thereof.
