- A home network system with a standby power saving function and a method for saving standby power thereof, wherein various home appliances exchange information with a home server from time to time. At least one home appliance for a home network is provided in the home network system to exchange information with the home server over a network line. The home appliance includes a controller for analyzing data received over the network line and generating and outputting a home appliance control signal in accordance with the analyzed result, a load for operating/stopping the home appliance in response to the home appliance control signal from the controller, a low voltage transformer (LVT) for receiving an external voltage and supplying a drive voltage to the controller to operate the load and controller, and an LVT relay and a power supply unit for cooperating to selectively supply the drive voltage and a standby voltage to the controller according to whether the home appliance is in operation. When the home appliance is in a standby mode, the supply of external power is interrupted and only the minimum power necessary for the controller is supplied, thereby making it possible to save the same amount of standby power as that of LVT leakage power.
- A method and system is provided for detecting, commanding and controlling diverse home devices currently connected to a home network. An interface is provided for accessing the home devices that are currently connected to a home network. According to the method, a device link file is generated, wherein the device link file identifies home devices that are currently connected to the home network. A device link page is created, wherein the device link page contains a device button that is associated with each home device that is identified in the device link file. A hyper-text link is associated with each device button, wherein the hyper-text link provides a link to an HTML page that is contained on the home device that is associated with the device button, and the device link page is displayed on a browser based home device.
- An object oriented method and computer system for implementing a persistence mechanism. The persistence mechanism is adapted to effectuate data transfer between a software application and a relational database. The method identifies homes and relationships. Each identified home includes attributes of a table of the database. Each identified relationship has attributes describing a foreign key interaction between two homes of the identified homes. A provided home class is adapted to be instantiated to any of the identified homes. A query to transfer data between the application and the database is generated such that a first home of the identified homes is processed. The first home includes attributes of a first table of the database. The processing of the first home includes an instantiation of the home class to an instance of the first home by setting attributes of the first home.
- A complex home appliance and a method of controlling and installing the same. The complex home appliance includes a single power supply unit shared by two or more component home appliances of the complex home appliance. The two or more component home appliances are controlled by a single control unit of the complex home appliance. The complex home appliance can be operated in a simultaneous operation mode in which the two or more component home appliances are simultaneously operable, and an individual operation mode in which only one of the two or more component home appliances is operable. The complex home appliance includes a mode-setting unit to set the simultaneous or individual operation mode. The complex home appliance includes a power cut-off unit which supplies power to the single power supply unit and cuts off the supply of the power in response to being electrically opened at the time of an electrical overload.
- A method and apparatus for dynamically assigning a home agent to a mobile station for a mobile IP session. The method and apparatus allow the telecommunications network to assign the home agent that is best able to serve the mobile station. This is achieved by utilizing a predetermined IP address that indicates to the network components, such as the packet-switched data network, the home agent, the home authorization, authentication, and accounting server, and the like, that the mobile station is requesting a dynamically assigned home agent.
