  1. A method, apparatus, and computer-readable media for retrieving records in a hierarchical set of the records having a plurality of hierarchical levels and a plurality of hierarchical depths, each of the records having a tag that is unique within the hierarchical set of the records, comprises identifying one of the records in the hierarchical set of the records; modifying the tag, thereby producing a key; indexing the hierarchical set of the records only once, thereby selecting one or more of the records within the hierarchical set of the records, wherein indexing the hierarchical set of the records only once comprises applying the key to the hierarchical set of the records; and retrieving the selected records.
  2. A method, apparatus, and computer-readable media for retrieving records in a hierarchical set of the records having a plurality of hierarchical levels and a plurality of hierarchical depths, each of the records having a tag that is unique within the hierarchical set of the records, comprises identifying one of the records in the hierarchical set of the records; modifying the tag, thereby producing a key; indexing the hierarchical set of the records only once, thereby selecting one or more of the records within the hierarchical set of the records, wherein indexing the hierarchical set of the records only once comprises applying the key to the hierarchical set of the records; and retrieving the selected records.
  3. In a database, records corresponding to individuals entitled to social benefits are routinely and automatically reviewed. Records meeting certain criteria are selected for assessment. As a result of the assessment, a number of risk indication flags may be associated with certain of the selected records. A list of the selected records is then ranked according to a priority that is based on number and significance of associated risk indication flags. The ranked list is then used determine an order in which the records will be reviewed by caseworkers to which the records are output.
  4. A method and system for use in a computing environment for selecting a subset of records from a set of records for placement of the subset of records in a plurality of destinations. A group of replica records is formed for a record of the subset of records, and a destination identification is assigned to each replica record, except one, of the group of replica records. A replica record associated with one of the plurality of destinations can be selected and can be placed in the associated destination.
  5. A method, a data structure, a computer program product and a computer-readable medium for correlating at least a first plurality of data records and a second plurality of data records, each data record of the first plurality of data records being uniquely identified within a corresponding data source by an associated internal identifier and each data record of the first and second plurality of data records comprising at least one external identifier. According to one embodiment, the method comprises determining a data record of the first plurality of data records and at least one data record of the second plurality of data records having an identical external identifier; and mapping the at least one determined data record of the second plurality of data records to the internal identifier associated with the determined data record of the first plurality of data records.
