Technical Examples
  1. Apparatus 10 discloses a mathematically-based game comprising a game board 12 having four parallel rows of eight depressions 14 for retaining game pieces 24 such as marbles. Game pieces 24 are arranged by each player 26 in the depressions 14 which are disposed within their area of play. The players 26 then sequentially manipulate the game pieces 24 around the game board 12 according to mathematical calculations with the objective of eliminating all of the opponent's game pieces. The apparatus 10 requires the user 26 to apply addition, subtraction, thinking and reasoning thereby promoting the concentration, creativity and problem-solving abilities of the players.
  2. This invention is directed to chess pieces for playing chess, more specifically to large three dimensional game pieces that are associated with outdoor game playing surfaces in which oversize game pieces are physically moved about a board representation that the player actually walks on. Each of the game pieces has a plurality of radially positioned interconnected panel elements which are removably secured to a support base and are collapsible upon one another after use for storage and transportation.
  3. The game apparatus has: a rotating bin containing at least one game piece; a moveable claw for grabbing the at least one game piece; a catapult for launching the at least one game piece; and a target area for receiving the at least one game piece; wherein the moveable claw places the at least one game piece on the catapult, and wherein the catapult launches the at least one game piece at the target area. The method of playing the game having a plurality of game pieces and having a target area, has the steps of: selecting at least one of the game pieces at a first location; moving the selected game piece to a second location; and catapulting the at least one of the game pieces from the second location toward a target area. The step of selecting may have the steps of rotating a plurality of game pieces, selectively stopping rotation of the plurality of game pieces, and picking up at least one of the game pieces. The step of catapulting may have the steps of aiming the catapult toward a target area and launching the at least one of the game pieces toward the target area.
  4. A game having at least two boards, each having a frame with a substantially flat surface, said board determinative of a playing level, an object piece, the frame having a playing surface with a predetermined entrance and exit, game pieces arranged to travel over the frame surface. The object piece and game pieces collectively should occupy less than the entire area of the frame surface wherein there remains an unoccupied space (such as half or equal to the area of the game piece). Pieces are allowed lateral movement within the frame where the object of the level is to permit the game piece to exit at the exit point to the next level of play. A puzzle strip may also be included. Other features could include magnetized surfaces, transparent sheets to secure the pieces. An embodiment of the game on a computer is also provided.
  5. Board games may include a game board, player movers, and indicia-bearing tokens and player-wearable costume components including one or more mounting sites to which the tokens may be removably attached. Some embodiments may further include game pieces having indicia indicating one or more of the tokens. Thus, some methods of game play may involve each player attempting to collect a predetermined set of tokens by determining if various game pieces indicate any of the tokens in the set. Other methods may involve concealing the indicia on one or more game pieces, and allowing players to attempt to guess the concealed indicia by the process of elimination.
