Technical Examples
- A floppy disk control circuit enables a floppy disk apparatus to operate at high speed while current consumption is suppressed to no more than 500 mA, i.e. the maximum allowed current of an apparatus using a USB interface. The floppy disk control circuit outputs a reference clock to a spindle motor drive circuit that drives the spindle motor in accordance with the reference clock to rotate a floppy disk. The floppy disk control circuit outputs a slow reference clock for a low rotational speed corresponding to the maximum allowed current at the commencement of the start-up of rotation of the floppy disk and outputs a fast reference clock for a high rotational speed after lapse of a predetermined time from the commencement of the start-up of rotation.
- A disc storage unit includes a case, a tray supported by the case and configured to support an array of discs in respective parallel vertical planes across which respective coaxial axes of the discs pass horizontally. There is a disc-raising mechanism having a finger activatable to lift one of the discs from the tray within its respective plane to thereby render that disc non-coaxial with other discs that might be supported by the tray. The storage unit also includes an indexing mechanism that is configured to cause the disc-raising mechanism to raise others of the discs in a like manner. This enables labels of the raised discs to be viewed for selection by a user.
- The sheet shredder includes a cutter block pair equipped with plural cutter discs arranged in parallel with each other at a specified distance, cutting units to cut sheets by rotating the cutter discs of the cutter block pair in the different directions respectively, guide plates to guide cut pieces of sheets cut by the cutter discs in the specified direction, and grooves provided at the sides opposite to the cutter discs of the guide plates to lead out stickum adhered to the cutter discs or the guide plates pursuant to the sheet cutting operation.
