- This invention generally relates to a set of parallelepipedal bodies (cells) capable of matingly compatible engagement for interconnection, so as to allow up to three degrees of freedom in the sliding movement of an individual cell or grouping of cells about a grouping of other interconnected cells from the set. Each cell may be monolithic or constructed from six face plates. For cubic and rhombohedral forms, the face plates are designed to interlock in construction with any other face plate to form a cell, regardless of the orientation of the face plates. A first set of cells utilizes a uniform face plate, each cell differing only in the orientation of this uniform face plate about the other uniform face plates on the cell. A second set of cells utilizes two different but matingly compatible face plates. Again, each cell differs only in the orientation of either of the matingly compatible face plates about the other face plates on the cell.
- A double or multiple-edged drilling tool has a base body rotatable about a drilling axis, and at least two plate seats arranged on the front face for accommodating identical interchangeable cutting plates. The cutting plates each have a machining face, and a clearance face adjoining a principal cutting edge forming a cutting wedge, and a seat face facing away from the clearance face. A guiding land adjoins radially outwardly through each edge the machining face, the clearance face and optically the seat face. The cutting plates each have a hole for a retaining screw which is screwed into a threaded bore at the front face of the base body. The holes are aligned with their axis perpendicular to the clearance face of the associated cutting plates the threaded bores are aligned inclined to the drilling axis and inclined to each other in the base body.
- A hinge for an orthopedic brace has two rotation plates, a pivotal connector connecting the rotation plates, a rotation limiting mechanism, and a rotation locking mechanism. The rotation limiting mechanism includes a rotation limiting face formed in one of the rotation plates and a rotation limiting assembly which has a stop face engageable with the rotation limiting face upon rotation of the rotation plates in a given direction to limit further rotation in that direction. The rotation locking mechanism includes a series of lock notches formed in one of the rotation plates and a rotation lock pin positionable within one of the lock notches to lock the rotation plates in a fixed position.
