Technical Examples
- An electric heating assembly includes a cooking plate (4) having a lower surface (6) relative to which is supported an electric heater (10) and an upper surface (8) adapted to receive a cooking utensil (12) on a heating zone (14) overlying the electric heater. The electric heater incorporates an electric heating element (22) and a temperature-responsive device (32) adapted to monitor temperature of the cooking utensil through the cooking plate at a predetermined region (34) of the overlying heating zone. The predetermined region is provided with visual identification (44) on the upper surface of the cooking plate for location of the cooking utensil at least partially over the visual identification.
- An electric oven capable of cooking food in a cook-top way. The electric oven according to the present invention includes a cabinet which forms an appearance of the electric oven, a cooking cavity defined inside the cabinet and having an opening front part to contain food therein, and a heater movably mounted in the cooking cavity and moves forward from the cooking cavity through the opening front part so as to cook food in cook-top way. The heater may heat the inner part of the cooking cavity also so as to cook food in a conventional oven-cooking manner.
- Apparatus is provided for detecting and controlling an abnormal rise in temperature associated with a combination of a cooking utensil (10) and a cooking surface (4) overlying an electric heater (6). A temperature-responsive device (24) monitors the temperature of the cooking utensil (10), while cooking utensil detection means (26) detects the location of the cooking utensil (10). Control means (30) is adapted to control energizing of the heater (6) whereby an abnormal rise in temperature associated with an event within the cooking utensil (10) is distinguished from an abnormal rise in temperature sensed by the temperature-responsive device (24) and associated with removal of the cooking utensil (10) from the cooking surface (4).
- An over-the-range (OTR) microwave oven includes a main body installed above a cooking source of a gas range and has therein a cavity and an electric equipment chamber in which a magnetron is located. An air exhaust path is installed inside the main body and provides a path through which air generated from the cooking source which is introduced through a suction port formed at the bottom of the main body by a suction force of a blower installed at the main body is exhausted to the outside of the main body. An airstream guide path is installed inside the main body and provides a path through which air inside the electric equipment chamber is discharged to a front end portion of the bottom of the main body by a flow generating apparatus installed inside the electric equipment chamber in order to guide air from the cooking source to the suction port, so that delightfulness of a cooking environment is obtained by blocking air containing cooking by-products which used to flow toward the face of the cook, thereby improving product reliability and competitiveness.
- A cooking vessel is disclosed having a main cooking surface. In one aspect, the cooking vessel has an exchangeable handle, one of the handles being elongate. In another aspect, a textured cooking surface is provided on an interior the cooking vessel to retain food on the textured portion at a level different from the main cooking surface.
