  1. Description and specifications of a new and distinct peach variety which originated from a hand pollinated cross of Ark. 392 (non-patented)×Ark. 433N (non-patented) made in 1993 at the University of Arkansas Fruit Substation, Clarksville. This new peach variety can be distinguished by its features of mid-season ripening, high yields of high-quality, attractive, freestone, firm, low-acid, white-flesh fruits, and good plant vigor along with good resistance to bacterial spot disease.
  2. The oral administration to genetically alcoholic rats (from the strain UChB of the University of Chile) of a compound selected from endogenic polyamines (putrescine, spermidine, spermine), 1,3-propanediamine, their pharmaceutically acceptable salts and solvates, and their bioprecursor amides, causes a significant reduction in the alcohol consumption. The activity lasts for some time after the treatment period. Besides, there is a virtually null disulfiram-like adverse effect, what constitutes an advantage over the unpleasant use of some anti-alcoholism agents, such as calcium cyanamide or disulfiram itself. Therefore, the compounds of the invention are useful for the preparation of medicaments for the therapeutic and/or prophylactic treatment of alcoholism in human beings.
  3. There is shown card game apparatus and method of play for use in educating children in basic mathematical concepts, the apparatus including a six-sided mathematical function indicator, such as a die, used in combination with two sets of cards, the function generator containing notation on a side indicating a different arithmetic operation such as addition, subtraction, multiplication and division, and on a fifth and sixth side game playing instructions. The first set of cards, some dealt to the players, include selected sets of cards each set numbered 1-10. The second set of cards consists of ten cards numbered 1-10 that are stacked to provide unit numbers used in the mathematical process indicated by the function indicator. In playing the game a player determines a problem to be solved by combining a card from the first and second sets and the mathematical function to be utilized, and then uses cards from his hand to demonstrate solution of the problem, the object of the game to rid ones hand of all cards.
  4. Group-Specific "Career Management Tools" allow groups (a sample of which include: academic departments at colleges and universities, academic groups, campus fraternity chapters, professional group chapters, and any cluster of individuals that identifies itself as a group), to manage their career-related activity on-line, through a tool containing functionality that includes, but is not limited to: a group-specific resume database, a group-specific job database, and a group-specific alumni database. Career Management Tools provide career-related information for group members, and such information is targeted specifically to the group. Information is entered into the Career Management Tool by group members (such as students, faculty, department administrators, group officers, and alumni), or by entities trying to target group members. Career Management Tools are deployed on a group's web site, and are branded to the group site's look and feel and they are accessible from the group's web site.
