  1. A performance information monitoring method using computers includes the steps of accepting information on a group relating to a first computer in the first computer; storing the accepted group information in a storage in the first computer; accepting performance information from a second computer in the first computer; comparing performance information of the second computer previously stored in a storage with the performance information received from the second computer in the first computer; judging whether or not the second computer is included in the information of the group when finding a difference between the performance information in the comparison result; and transmitting an instruction to the computer included in the group information to change a performance information collection interval according to the judgment result.
  2. The present invention provides systems and methods that allow one or more quasi-persistent HTTP connections to be established between a client computer and server computer. The quasi-persistent HTTP connection(s) allow(s) data to be transferred between the client computer and the server computer without having to repeatedly set up and then terminate a HTTP connection between the client computer and the server computer each time the client computer and the server computer have data to send to one another. Two or more quasi-persistent HTTP connections can be established between a client computer and a server computer to form a bi-directional connection between the client computer and the server computer. The bi-directional connection significantly improves the speed and the efficiency of data transfer between the client computer and the server computer.
  3. An automatic computer configuration system is disclosed wherein a portable terminal such as a portable telephone set which has been spread widely and is usually carried by a user can be used to automatically configure a computer suitably for a particular user. The automatic computer configuration system comprises a portable terminal and a computer connected to the portable terminal. The portable terminal stores unique computer configuration information to be used for configuration of a computer specified for a particular user. Upon login by a user, the computer communicates with the portable terminal to receive the computer configuration information stored in the portable terminal and automatically configures the computer itself based on the received computer configuration information. Upon logout, the computer transmits the latest computer configuration to the portable terminal and restores the configuration using computer configuration information used before the computer configuration information is rewritten with the unique computer configuration information received from the portable terminal, or restores a default configuration using default computer configuration information.
  4. A computer based verification retrieval system comprises a communication network to facilitate communication between a first computer and a data access computer, a data access computer connected to said communication network, said data access computer configured to serve as an interface for said first computer and transmit said verification over said communication network to said first computer, and a data storage computer in communication with said data access computer, said data storage computer configured to store said verification and provide said verification to said data access computer upon request.
  5. An improved pivotal hinge mechanism used for portable computer equipped with a stopper device which when portable computer and a docking station are joined together shall be actuated by the docking station to prevent the LCD of the portable computer from rotating in left and right direction, so that the collision happened between the docking station and the LCD of the portable computer due to rotation of the LCD relative to the computer mainframe shall be avoided; when the portable computer is disconnected from the docking station said stopper device shall immediately return to the normal position so that the LCD of the portable computer can rotate again in an angle of 0-180 degrees in left and right direction with respect to the computer mainframe.
