  1. A method of scanning cinematographic film to produce digital images corresponding to images on frames of the film is provided, comprising the steps of:
  2. A molding and film forming apparatus 700 molds a disc substrate from a stamper 330 formed from an optical disc disc-master 320 and forms a coating film, for example, a reflective film onto the disc substrate, thereby forming a recorded optical disc 360. A postscript apparatus 200 writes postscript information once onto an optical disc 340 formed by the molding and film forming apparatus 700. As postscript information, a laser beam is irradiated to a predetermined interval of the optical disc 340, a portion which is detected as a pit is formed, and an optical disc 350 on which postscript information 420 has been recorded is formed. Identification information which enables each optical disc 340 to be identified can be postscribed. The postscript information is recorded in a conventional format and the postscript information can be reproduced by an existing reproducing apparatus.
  3. A laser crystallization apparatus and method for crystallizing a semiconductor thin film while monitoring at a high spatial and temporal resolution in real time. In a laser crystallization apparatus comprising a crystallizing optical system which irradiates a semiconductor thin film with a pulse laser light having an intensity distribution to melt and to crystallize the thin film in a manner to grow grains laterally, the apparatus comprises an illumination light source provided out of an optical path of the laser, an illumination optical system including annular optical elements which provides the optical path of the laser light in a central portion and guides the illumination light to the thin film, and an observing optical system which magnifies the illumination light transmitted through the thin film, picks up an image of the grains growing laterally, and displays the image.
  4. An optical device includes first and second laminated films of alternate layers of optical thin films of high refractivity material and low refractivity material, and having an optical film thicknesses of "a" and "b" respectively; wherein b>a, and an optical plate on which the first laminated film and the second laminated film are formed in sequence from at least one primary surface of the optical plate, wherein a third laminated film comprised of a lamination of optical thin films of high refractivity material and low refractivity material and having an optical film thickness "c" is interposed between the first laminated film and the second laminated film, wherein b>c>a. As a result, an optical device which has spectral characteristics where ripple in the opaque zone which blocks infrared light is suppressed, can be obtained.
  5. An optical member (for example, optical fiber) is dipped in a coating solution having a film forming material dissolved therein to form an antireflection film on the end surface of the optical member. When the optical member is pulled up from the coating solution, the angle formed by the level of the coating solution and the end surface of the optical member, or the pulling speed is varied to adjust the film thickness or reflectance of the antireflection film to be formed on the end surface of the optical member. The film forming material is a fluorine-containing compound. The antireflection film is formed by dipping. The film thickness of the antireflection film is uneven.
