Technical Examples
  1. A television and music distribution system is provided. Music programs are distributed over a number of analog and digital music channels to a number of users for playing by their user music equipment. Music information on the music program currently broadcasted on the music channels is provided in an in-band data stream on the channels. The user music equipment includes two tuners for providing users with the ability to listen to the music program on one channel while viewing the music information on another.
  2. A real-time music information retrieval system and methods for providing desired music information via text message to radio or television stations listeners through wireless communication devices. Listeners could retrieve information for the song that is currently being played at the radio and television station, or the songs that have previously been played. A system and method is provided to automatically send an alert message the radio and television station listeners of upcoming music broadcasting events.
  3. A communication terminal device comprising a TV broadcasting tuner for receiving a TV broadcasting, a display device for displaying a video image of the received TV broadcasting, and a transceiver for communicating with a base station. The transceiver acquires base station information for an optional one of base station areas, and acquires a TV broadcasting frequency corresponding to the optional base station area. The TV broadcasting tuner receives the TV broadcasting at the acquired TV broadcasting frequency.
  4. The broadcasting tower selecting method for selecting one broadcasting tower out of a plurality of broadcasting towers each being able to transmit together broadcast waves on a plurality of channels that can be received in an area, including: a first step of judging an existence or not of the channels that can be received in the area; a second step of extracting, based on a result from the judgment in the first step, one or more broadcasting towers that can provide all channels being receivable in the area out of the plurality of the broadcasting towers; and a third step of selecting one arbitrary broadcasting tower out of the extracted one or more broadcasting towers. Thus, it is possible to select automatically, with an easy operation, a broadcasting tower that can provide best video and audio quality, out of a plurality of broadcasting towers.
  5. The present invention provides a music search system for conducting music search, which allows the user to easily listen to music matched to situation. The music search system includes a music data storage section, a location acquisition section, a parameter converting section, a music search section, and a reproducing section. The music data storage section stores a plurality of pieces of music data so as to be associated with a corresponding one of music parameters. The location acquisition section acquires a situation parameter. The parameter converting section converts the situation parameter acquired by the location acquisition section into the music parameter. The music search section uses the music parameter resulted from conversion by the parameter converting section to search through the plurality of pieces of music data stored in the music storage section and selects a piece of music to be reproduced. The reproducing section reproduces the piece of music selected by the music search section.
