Technical Examples
  1. A bookbinding machine for processing inner books includes a transport system with a multiplicity of inner-book clamps continually movable in a closed continuous track. Each of the inner book clamps is articulated to a circulating roller chain and has a rear-edge stop for aligning the inner books. The bookbinding machine includes workstations that perform positionally accurate operations on the inner books including the application of glue, the application of reinforcement or gauze sections, the application of jackets, binding with wire stitches, the introduction of utilisation features (e.g. punched holes, tear-off perforations, etc.) and the like. The transport system of the inner-book clamps and at least one workstation are driven independently of one another. A measuring system for positional detection of the inner-book clamps or of the inner books is provided in proximity to the independently driven workstation. The measuring system provides inner book or clamp position data used to control the workstation performing positionally accurate operation on the relevant inner book.
  2. A book light that is removably mounted to a book spine, has a flexible lamp support arm, and provides a rotational device that enables full 360 degree rotation of the lamp support arm about a longitudinal axis of the book spine such that a reader can comfortably hold and read a paperback book folded back upon itself with one hand, a page facing the reader is well illuminated, and subsequent pages can be illuminated by turning the folded book over to a new page and simply rotating the lamp support arm and lamp over the new reading page, all without having to remove and re-mount the book light from the book.
  3. A tape feeder and a method of controlling the same are disclosed, in which an automatic feeding tape and a manual feeding tape are selectively fed to a binding device. In the method of controlling a tape feeder comprising a tape feeding portion structured to selectively feed manual feeding tapes and automatic feeding tapes to a tape heating unit, a stack cassette having the automatic feeding tapes therein, and a tape moving path moving the automatic feeding tapes in the stack cassette to the tape feeding portion, wherein the tape moving path includes a slot into which the manual feeding tapes are externally input, an automatic feeding tape sensor, and a tape feeding sensor, and the tape feeding portion includes a tape aligning position sensor sensing the position where the automatic feeding tape or the manual feeding tape has been fed to the tape heating unit, the method is characterized in that the manual feeding tape prior to the automatic feeding tape is moved to the tape feeding portion by a signal of the tape feeding sensor when the automatic feeding tape sensor and the tape feeding sensor respectively sense the automatic feeding tape and the manual feeding tape.
  4. The invention relative to a positioning device for the scanned object of a scanner may make a positioning function to a document or a book to be scanned. Through designing a positioning element on the shell body of a scanner, a book of many pages may be positioned or secured on the positioning element, which may be designed on the scanning window. According to the size, the form, or the thickness of the book, an appropriate positioning element may be used, and its number is selectively applied. The book is placed on the positioning element, wherein the middle recession part of the book is placed at the top end of the positioning element, by which a bulged-out part is formed and sandwiched into the middle recession part of the book to thereby secure the book in the positioning element.
  5. In a tape system and method for guiding a tape from a tape reel to a read/write tape head and then to a take-up reel, the tape is guided along a tape path such that the path surrounds the take-up reel and then begins winding on the take-up reel. With such a long tape guide path, less pressure is required on an edge of the tape for positioning the tape at the tape head.
