  1. An interchangeable furniture system for providing an interchangeable furniture element having faces with different appearances. The desired face may be selected and the interchangeable furniture element selectively oriented to make that face visible.
  2. A method of identifying double tap gesture, wherein the double tap gesture is produced on a touch device and characterize in that: when the summation of the first appearing time duration, the time span between the two appearing time durations and the second appearing time duration is smaller than the first reference time, then generate a first signal that represents the first and second appearances. This is to simulate the double tap signal output from the double clicking of the mouse button and so as to achieve a short, simple and reliable determination.
  3. A method and apparatus is disclosed for the customization of electronic equipment of which portable audio players, portable disc players, portable digital games and laptop computers are representative. The electronic equipment may be fitted with a substantially transparent faceplate that may cover removable inserts. These inserts may be customizable to provide unique decorative appearances to the electronic equipment upon which they may be fitted. Decorative designs may either be preprinted on the inserts or a user may produce a customized design.
  4. A plant pot system includes an inner pot and an outer coded container pot. The inner plant pot includes a lip lock ridge and belt. The outer coded container pot includes a lip lock band and groove; and has one of a range of appearances. The inner plant pot containing a plant is placed within the outer pot and locks into place by engagement of the ridge in the groove so the combined pots have the appearance of the selected outer pot.
  5. A configurable PSTN call-handling (CPC) service enables monitoring and custom responses to calls received over multiple subscriber lines associated with a user. A CPC Client Program runs on a computer and presents a graphical user interface (GUI) that allows the user to associate call-handling options with call characteristics, such as caller, date, or time. The GUI also allows the user to customize the notification signals provided and to provide custom responses to certain callers, by associating call characteristics with various GUI appearances, sound files, or images. The CPC relieves the communications network of performing certain call-handling functions, such as call forwarding, by moving decision-making processes to the user's PC. The user can remotely monitor any subscriber line associated with the user from any browser, because the communications network sends notifications directly to an IP address specified by the user, rather than to the IP address associated with the subscriber line.
