Genes and proteins involved in the biosynthesis of lipopeptides by microorganisms, in particular the nucleic acids forming the biosynthetic locus for the A54145 lipopeptide from Streptomyces fradiae and the A54145-like lipopeptide from Streptomyces refuineus.
